Great video doorbell
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have some wireless cameras around my home and thought it would be great to get a video doorbell. I have the Nest Secure home security system and it works really well. After reading many reviews of video door bells I wasn't compelled to purchase one of the other video door bells on the market. I am very impressed with the Nest home security system and it worked well out of the box. Since it took Nest a while to come out with the Nest Hello I figured they were really doing a good job to create a great product and bring it to market when it was ready. I think they did a great job with it. It is pretty easy to install. The hardest part for me was to figure out how to turn off the power to my wired door bell. This is not a wireless door bell, so you need to ensure that you have sufficient power to your door bell. There are a couple wires that need to be spliced into at your actual door bell. Then you just need to mount the Hello door bell base, hook up 2 wires to the 2 terminal screws on the back of the Hello and click it into place. I really like that from the time you open the app to seeing a live view only takes about 4-5 seconds. I have a wireless camera that takes 30-45 seconds and that is just annoying. My only real complaint is that they offer a feature to learn faces and announce them but you have to pay for it after the 30 day free trial. The subscription is $5 per month or $50 per hear for 24/7 continuous recording and intelligent alerts. Even without the 24/7 continuous recording or intelligent alerts it is a great video doorbell.

Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this doorbell no problem it's got great picture and I love the familiar face option. You need to check your doorbell transformer volts before u buy it or u might need a different transformer. They are usually in the attic by the heater. Single floor house. Did not want to drill a new hole in the brick outside the house so I used a dermal to modify the bracket. Other then that we love it.

Great Product Love it!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this doorbell. I've been researching on which item to get the Nest or the Ring. After doing weeks of research by looking at cnet, youtube and reddit reviews I gave in and purchased the Nest. The picture on it is great in the morning and in night-time. I love this product and have not had any problems with it so far. Also, the installation was extremely easy.

Good product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over all good produce, have had it last 3 years and still works but it lost the front cover over the camera sensor and now gets blurry pretty quickly, in subzero winter has not turned off once. is very reliant on good wifi connection so if poor wifi signal may need a new wireless network to work correctly.

Nest Hello
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super easy to install. I’m not sure why they "recommend" a professional; it’s only slightly more difficult than changing a light bulb. Once it’s installed, getting it connected was also easy. Image quality is great, alerts are timely and accurate and the new face recognition is a major bonus. It feels like it’s very well put together, much nicer than the "other manufacturer."

Nest doorbell...I like it a lot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded my front door so decided to get a new doorbell. Works great, picks up LOTS of sound and motion depending on your settings, picture quality is solid. Went on vacation and was able to monitor the camera without issue.

Worth all the hype!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked at Ring and had a Skybell HD for just over a year before it finally gave up. I've been waiting on the Nest Hello to see how it stacked up. It appears they took notes from all the failures of the other brands of video doorbells and created the Nest Hello that performs flawlessly. Installation was a little more involved, but not hard. You have to make sure the voltage of your current transformer is between 16v-24v. The app guides you through the install which took less that 30 minutes to have my account set up, doorbell installed and looking at video on my phone. Connects to 5G and 2.4G. Its noticeably faster on 5G over the 2.4G. The app works flawlessly and is easy to set up your alerts. Its also better looking than the other doorbells. Very modern and Apple like. The app tells you the current temp and weather at the doorbell location. Go a little farther into settings and you can see the voltage the doorbell is receiving as well as network settings.

Glad I purchased the Nest Doorbell
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Nest Doorbell, the picture is always clear and the night vision is great. I recently caught a delivery I might have missed due to being able to talk to the driver while I was away.

Easy Setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't normally write reviews but for this product I feel I need to. So I have tried Ring Doorbell Pro and it did not work for me because my voltage on my doorbell was not sufficient to power the Ring Doorbell. I spent many hours initially trying to get it to work with Ring support but they did not know why it wasn't working. I had to find out online that I didn't have enough power so when the Nest Hello came out I read that it needed a minimum of 14v. I bought a multimeter and measure my voltage and it shows 14.25. Crossing my fingers I installed the Nest Hello. Went through the app to set it up and 10 mins later I was good to go. What amazes me is that it was so easy to connect to my Google Home. It automatically recognized my Google Home devices and connected it. Now when someone rings the doorbell Google Home will tell you that someone is at the door. So glad Google bought nest! The integration is great! I highly recommend this device.

Great Doorbell Cam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this camera for about a month now and I’m really impressed with the quality all the way around. First of all, it is the sleekest looking doorbell camera on the market today. The installation process was very easy and straightforward. This camera also integrates with the current nest app. I also have the nest thermostat and it’s nice that these two products work great in a single app. Pros: - Great camera quality, both daytime and nighttime - Wide angle camera is able to capture all the way down the walkway leading to my door - Response time is great. If motion is detected, I am typically notified within 5 seconds. Almost instantly if the person rings the doorbell. - 2 way audio communication works great. - Familiar face detection is a cool feature and alerts you when someone arrives and identifies them by name. Cons - I haven’t had any cons thus far. It has been a great product.

Ring sucks, get Google
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed this a month ago, 2 Hello doorbells and a Google mesh WiFi network. This replaces a Ring system I've had about 2 years and that never worked correctly. These systems need access to your WiFi network, so be prepared to maybe extend that as needed with an extender The Ring extender sucks, period and every time it failed I would call them (they do have good support - in that you don't wait 45 minutes) but all they could do was replace the extender, which would typically lose the WiFi connection within a month. I finally just tossed that system, and spent the money on a Nest system, which has worked flawlessly since install. Worth the added cost over a Ring system, IMO.

Great video useless without a subscription
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product should be cheaper because it is worthless without a $50 annual subscription to Nest Aware. Without it you will get notified of people or sound, but you can't see a video of it. You can see just a picture. Also be advised that you'll need a subscription for EACH camera so if you have other Nest cameras you'll need a separate subscription for each one. Now for some good, the video quality is great. The notifications are really quick giving you time to react to package deliveries or people waiting at the door. Installation was super easy with clear written instructions as well as video instructions. It integrates well with my other Nest products. If it wasn't for the $50/year subscription I would've given this a 5!

Daughter feels safer now
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed two of these, one at my daughter's house and one at my son's house. Installation was fairly easy. The instructions tell you to check the existing doorbell's transformer for voltage, but I couldn't find it. Fortunately, the doorbell itself indicated the voltage in both houses, so I was able to proceed. My daughter said it's the best gift I ever bought her. The day after I installed it, two separate sales people came to her door and she was able to decide not to answer. She feels much safer now, which is exactly what I was looking for when I bought this for her. My son likes the cool factor, but I assume his live in girlfriend appreciates the safety as well.

expensive to own
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to successfully install and configure the doorbell. I like that it's not battery powered since I avoid gadgets that require ongoing maintenance. But I also dread any gadget that leaches money from my bank account. Nest Labs (owned by Google) really only is useful if you pay monthly (range of $5 - $30/mo) or annually (range $50- $300/ year). Without the maintenance plan, this gadget only captures one still frame (no video capture) and it even deletes that still frame after 3 hours. Other competitors offer free video recording and only require maintenance packages if you want to keep continuous video or if you want to keep your history for extended periods of time. The live feed works well if you're on a wi-fi network. But if you're only on a cellular network when your doorbell rings, then by the time you connect and see who is there, they will no longer be on your porch.

Nest Good … Google Bad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great quality. It’s just too bad that Google had to majorly screw up nest products with their limited Home App. And the “battery” powered replacement is a joke.

This Thing is NICE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this A LOT. I have been waiting for this for so long and pre-ordered it the day it came out. Setup isn't too bad and you can do this yourself especially if you're bell is mounted somewhere with lots of space around it. The picture quality is great. It lags a little and I can't tell now if its my network or just Nest in general with the speed of the notifications. The setup was pretty fast and easy. The cable extenders were too short for me and it's to get old fragile stuck in the clip part of the extender. What's nice is that you can link your Google Home to the Nest Hello for doorbell announcements, which is nice, but odd when it says "There is someone at your front camera." Setup is simple and quick if don't need to extend any wires, etc., the setup via the app was great as well. All Hail the best new video doorbell out there.

Poor Customer Support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As many reviews have said, installation of the product was simple. I was able to use existing holes and the bracket with ease. The electrical was simple and being low voltage reduced concern of shock. Be sure to turn your power off. Unfortunately, I haven’t experienced the picture quality as the camera has not connected to the app. All I have receive is an offline error. After spending 2 hours with tech support turning routers, apps, and power on and off, testing router speeds and types I was told to remove the doorbell. The key tool to remove is difficult to use and can bend possibly break. I was told to press a non existent button on the back of the device to reset it. There is an unlabeled pin hole which is far from a button. My rep will never make that mistake again. After this entire process I was informed that I needed a WiFi hotspot to test if there was a connection error and there was nothing else tech support could do. Don’t have one. I do have an expensive doorbell that isn’t working. I am sure that the issue will get resolved; however, support has been far from supportive. As a relatively new product there aren’t online forums on how to resolve this issue. I’ll be sure to post an update of how it was resolved.

Excellent video doorbell
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Weighed my decision back and forth between Nest Hello and Ring 2, glad I went with the Hello. I already owned a Nest Thermostat, the Hello install was easy enough for a newbie. (Only requires 2 wires for the doorbell, and 3 for the chime). I have an older home, so I did have to go to the hardware store and purchase a new transformer for the doorbell. I watched a YouTube video and replaced the transformer myself. Setup was effortless, and the push alerts have been fantastic. Glad I went with this, and will be looking at the security cameras as well.
