This device provides a warning when anyone approaches it. It has a number of capabilities such as allowing the user to view, talk to or listen to the visitor either while the user is at home or away. It can indicate whether a package is being left or removed. Small items left next to the door do not appear in it's view. There are so many features that a tutorial allowing the user to practice the features would be very useful. Also the iPhone provides a small image making it difficult to recognize the visitor. I have been trying to view the visitor on my iPad but have not yet succeeded accomplishing the connection of the iPad to the system. I had the unit professionally installed and am glad I did.

I replaced an existing indoor/outdoor antiquated intercom/doorbell system that fried, so had the wiring. Friends tell me the battery model needs new every 60 days or so. No thanks. Now get to work and it is some work. First, check your wireless signal where the Nest is to be placed. Bandwidth, OK, but network speed better-they're different. Even if you have large bandwidth, the doorbell location may not get a signal! On Android, go to your WIFI SSID(what you call your WIFI), click on the settings wheel and see what ya got by the location. Although downloading a free WIFI analyzer that even this dummy can read, will show it best. They're all a minus readings, you want better than -60 to -30 is best, the lower number better. Without a good signal, you'll have a dead doorbell. Next, the existing transformer - Google docs and helpline not much help, 16V, blah blah, info that the old transformers don't mention. But embedded is "Class 2" and that's what you want. Now the wiring. Unless you have an existing working doorbell, probably need a meter or an electrician to check if you're getting juice. Next find the circuit breaker that controls the transformer. If all good, take a break. Part 2. Find a replacement plate, blank. Got lucky with Kyle Switch Plates in San Diego, found the prefect fit. I needed a big one for the intercom replacement and to mount my new Hello. Although you'll have to drill the new holes in the plate. I'd highly recommend getting an electrician to do the drilling and wiring for the Hello Nest and doorbell chime, but stick around, read/watch the install directions and make sure they are doing correctly. Your person may know wiring, but Smart stuff, not so much. Once up and running, you can do the link to your network, Nest app and doorbell chime or Best Buy might do it. The apps come in three models, Mobile, desktop and Google Home, all a bit different. So will take some study. In the end, I needed a new WIFI mesh system to reach the doorbell, but now all things Smart in my house are working great so worth the investment for me. And finally the video archive subscription. I have a busy street, so opted for the Aware Plus. A little pricey, I'll try it for a year. You get 24/7 checks and 60 day archives. If you live on a quiet street and little door traffic, you may want a lessor program, 30 day free trial available. After all this, it works great! Glad I did it!

Easy to install, works great! I love getting the notifications on my phone. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the price, I think they should be a little more reasonably priced.

This Nest Hello is awesome. For the most part the install was easy but I had some snags because as it turned out my existing doorbell wouldn't work with the Nest Hello. I was able to get it changed and once that was done it was easy to finish the install. Once connected, getting it set up in the app was quick. I now can view my front porch and be notified if someone rings the doorbell. I highly recommend subscribing to Nest Aware because it gives you the option to use facial recognition to tell you who is at the door. I also have the Nest Hello connected to my Google home so when someone rings the doorbell, my google home will tell me who it is. Pretty sweet.

My home security company put in a Skybell. I took that out and replaced it with this. This fully integrates with my existing Google Home. The audio quality far surpasses that of the Ring doorbell that I had at my old home. The video is high definition quality and looks great in direct sunlight and complete darkness. The only issue I had was with installation but that was due more to my wires being too short and the wire extenders not fitting in behind the doorbell. If you have no wiring experience this can still be installed easily thanks to step by step video instructions in the Home app.

Nice to have a doorbell again. For the most part I am satisfied with the Nest integration. Couple of things to consider... 1. It picks up and sends an alert for any, I mean ANY movement. Our house is about 15 yards from the road and each time a car goes by my phone goes off. 2. The installation is quite straightforward. Our house is from 1930 and the wiring for the doorbell has not been active since we moved in, just wasn't a priority. I was, with my small amount of residential electrical knowledge was able to wire the system in about 1.5 hours. I am unsure if I made a mistake, or if it is by design. My mechanical door bell chime no longer rings. In short, it works a bit too well.

Looks good, works well. I think it is overpriced though, but i think that’s par for the course when it comes to Nest products. Hardest part is purchasing the subscription from Nest. Can’t purchase from the app and no response from Nest.

Nest products are great. This has been really useful for knowing when packages arrive and also a great security deterrent for porch pirates. Video/audio quality are great and if you pay a few bucks a month for Nest Aware you have access to videos going back 30 days as well as familiar face recognition. Installation is a little challenging, but doable on your own. Check Nest's website to make sure your home setup is compatible though.

Awesome smart home addition for those who are addicted to modern day technology. I'm fairly loyal to the Google product lines. Did consider the Ring Doorbell, but have no experience to compare with. Very impressed with audio/video quality and network connectivity success. Downsides are as follows: Setup with no experience was a little difficult. Had to change the voltage regulator. Once you get the hang of it, you find that it's rather simple like most things. Which there was a software way to change the angle view instead of having to physically mount position the unit or having use a 3rd party mount. Very difficult to sync the product in with multiple user's in the house hold. Having some issues with the camera disappearing from Google Home Hub and set it backup. What's up Google? Firmware???
