Great doorbell camera. The cloud storage service is a bit of a ripoff if you opt to pay for it, but the device itself is great. We had regular doorbells in the front and back of our house, so these were an easy way to hardwire security cameras with the existing wiring. I’d recommend them. We also have NEST thermostats and smoke detectors, which are all easily controlled from the nest app.

If you want the full Google Nest Doorbell experience you will have to purchase their cloud subscription. It is worth-it and it is affordable. You can playback events and never miss an event. Their subscription is about $50 a year, which is much better than their competitors. The installation is fairy quick and self-explanatory. However, if you don't have an existing doorbell, you will need to drill your own holes to run a power wire.

Even though it was new, we purchased this doorbell camera, because other brands were too wide for our door frame. Setup was a breeze, it took less than an hour. We have enjoyed using this doorbell to observe packages arriving (with no knock or doorbell ring from the delivery person,) watch people track through our yard, and even cats and bird being cats and birds. The video is very clear, albeit slow to load in a browser. I would highly recommend this doorbell to anyone that asks.

I’m in the process of bringing home automation into our house and the video doorbell was the first item to install. I was debating between this one and Ring’s doorbell, but decided to go with the nest since it’s capable of being connected with google home. The result is, I don’t regret my decision. The video quality is good and I didn’t experience any delays like some people mentioned. If you want a video doorbell that’s more compact and can connect with google home, go with nest video doorbell.

i have the ring door bell 1 for my apartment and since it has batteries and i dont have to wire it up to get power was a plus for me but i got the nest for my parents house since the have the power cable for the door bell and all i can say is wow the picture quality is the best on the nest door bell and it looks so much better than the ring spend the little more money and get something that you enjoy using for the years to come.
