    Perfect upgrade to existing thermostat. We bought a new house and were going to take our gen 1 nest, but then decided to buy this one since it came with the extra sensor. Installation was simple, setup extremely easy. Would recommend to anybody!

    Upgraded from the Gen3 from 2014. This is definitely and improvement on multiple levels. With more flexible sensor scheduling and nicer screen. The only reason for the 4 stars is it's price. This and 3 more sensors was quite a bit.

      3. Tap Energy dashboard.

    Perfect for averaging temperature. You can set to sense one room or average both. Installation took 10 minutes. Replaced existing gen 1 nest. I can tell the difference.

    Love this NEST thermostat. It gives indoor and outdoor temps. Humidity indiction in the house. Very easy to control from my android phone. And the separate free standing device keeps me informed of my bedroom temp, as well. Even though this version is the more expensive unit- it is worth it. Plus I have the membership from Best Buy that gives me a discount.

    Great thermostat! Love the black color. It looks way much better on my wall than the previous gen. Display a little on the dim side, maybe because of the color. One con is, it is very expensive now that the previous gen is on sale.

    Upgraded from my near learning thermostat 3rd Gen. Setup was easy, unable to connect to nest app though so I have to use two apps for my other devices. The instructions are easy to understand. Controls are similar to the 3rd Gen but with a sleeker feel. This device is not compatible with a high voltage system, so please double check that before you purchase. Overall it is great and easy to use, once set up in the home app, all controls through it feel similar to the nest app. Expect the control to run your fan non stop, they have timed intervals up to 3 days I believe it is.
