Will not work with previous Nest wiring

The Google Nest Protect 2nd generation Smart Smoke/Carbon Monoxide wired Alarm will not work with the wiring that was in place for the previous Nest Protect. So, if you have the old wiring and want the new Google product you will need to plan accordingly. I called Best Buy in advance about this exact question and was told it was the same wiring. I do not know how to do this kind of wiring at home so I am going to have to return the product. Therefore my review is simply to inform consumers of this issue. I cannot evaluate the rest of the product since I cannot use it.

Nest Protect has been designed for easy installation. It can be a simple DIY project and you can follow the steps we outlined here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9231672
We recommend to make sure you identify whether your Nest Protect is wired or battery-powered since installation will depend on the power specification.

They are very expensive and for my house the cost to replace all detectors is over $1000. Maybe they could make the without the CO detectors as well to save costs.
