This is a great item but after a couple years they go out if you do not clean them on a year-to-year basis. And they do not sell black ones anymore for some reason

I bought two of these to replace some old smoke detectors in my home, and because I have a Nest Thermostat and another Nest Protect in my Kitchen area. I really like the features but I wish it was less expensive, too install the required number of detectors in my house I would need 8 of them which would cost me around $1000.00. The other thing is that when it comes time to replace them you must replace the entire unit, a better design would be to have a sensor pack that you can simply replace leaving the main unit still connected to your WIFI.

My goal is to have a "smart home." So when I leave my pets home alone, I like the fact that this smoke detector will notify my phone. Luckily, we haven't run into any issues *knock on wood*

Works like a charm. Really like it which makes me an official adult that think a smart smoke detector is cool. But it’s money well spent and piece of mind.

This is the only device that works with the other smart devices in my home. I wish there were more alternatives that would work with Google Assistant.

It does exactly what is described I love it. My home is safer because of nest.

This item gives us peace of mind knowing we are protected if there is smoke or carbon monoxide problem. The motion night light id great!

I love nest but am starting to get concerned about all of the bugs they have. Last week my thermostat battery died due to a software malfunction and my heat wouldn't kick on! I just purchased the protect and placed it outside my bathroom and a hot shower set it off the other day... If this thing can't differentiate smoke from water how do I know that it can successfully detect CO?? Please fix!

Easy to do self install. Easy to connect to WiFi. Installed a few months ago and no issues.

I haven't had the chance to check the main functionality of the units luckily, but I've had them for a bit now. The path lighting feature is nice and using the Protect to trigger Home/Away is even better.

I used to leave my house and wonder if my house would burn down. Now I get an alert if it does 10/10.

Looks nice. Not sure yet if it was worth the price compared to other less expensive detectors.

Bought this product for my second home in Florida to monitor any emergency events that take place when I am so far away in Massachusetts. Nice to know my home is protected when I’m not there!

I am sure these are great if you do not have smoke detectors already. They are not compatible with previously wired detectors due to the voltage. I returned these rather than spend a fortune rewiring my house & having to do repairs where my current ones are. I am rather disappointed

Works good. Only thing I wish is that it was smaller in size overall.

The alarm that I purchased was 3 years old. Old stock probably. The smoke sensor is good for 10 years so you immediately lose 3 years of life. Kept one of them and returned the other one. Beware and look at the expiration date after you open the box.

Absolute nightmare to pair to a new wifi setup if you’ve already set it up. Switched routers and had to go around and I is tall almost every nest product I had and reinstall everything. Nest as a whole is the worst investment of my life. Save yourself the headache and take any other route to a smart house.

I followed the instructions and still can't get it to light up, otherwise it still works as a smoke detector

Have these all over my house. Love how the work with the Google eco system.

They work great and look great if only they supported homekit
