I have three of these units in the house. They work together with the Nest. Easy to install, both the AC and battery models. The AC model just plugged in where a detector used to be. The night light feature is also very useful.

Looks great and very easy installation. I like the night light and the extra motion sensor prevents the Nest thermostat from false away detection. I also like the fact that the status of the detectors are monitored and reported on line.

Does what it’s supposed to do in a cool way! Very easy install. I replaced six wired units with Nest Protect units. Looks great and works well. Brightness-selectable night-light is great!

Had to get the old one replaced. It easy to install. The blue circle glows when lights are off, great to use a night light. Alert you right away if smoke or carbon monoxide is detected.

Love these. Great functionality - especially love the nightlight. Only downside is cost, but its a high quality unit.

I bought two of these to go with the two Nest Thermostats I purchased. Easy to install and set up. Several great features such as different colored light ring and sound. Looks stylish compared to my original wired smoke detector.

It is definitely an upgrade from a regular smoke detector, that you can remotely monitor through your mobile device and it was basic installation. We have one in the hallway and love the night light feature.

What makes this device such a good investment is the ability to "talk" to the Nest Thermostat. This is a crucial benefit if for even one important point... As this is a dual smoke alarm / carbon monoxide detecter, if your home ever has a CO leak, the Nest Protect tells Nest Thermostat to deactivate the home furnace! As a homeowner a father to a family of five, this requires no debate!! Safety first!!!! Oh by the way, most insurance companies will offer a discount on your homeowners insurance with this capability... East to install,.. I have installed both the battery powered & the hard wired version, ... Each took about 10 - 15 minutes. Love the nightime illumination capability of this detector as well ,.. Mine are installed at the respective stair landings in our home, so nice added bonus with the nightime lighting!

The Protect is a miracle. We've all bought various brands of smoke/CO detectors for years...and had to replace them way before we should have because they either fail completely (even those with the '10 year (non-replaceable) battery' that seem to have taken over) or go off incessantly for no reason. I've had the Nest Protect in place for a year now where other alarms have all failed in one way or another and it has never given me one problem. The added bonus of a night light that goes on when you walk under it at night is terrific. Installation was no problem and the help line is always available if needed. I am going to buy another three now that it has proven itself for the long haul.

Replaced my old traditional smoke detector(s) with a pair of Google-Nest Smoke/CO alarm. I have never installed a smoke alarm, so I was very surprised, pleasantly so, at how easy the installation was. Pairing it with the app was even more simpler and intuitive. I love that it can detect Smoke AND Carbon Monoxide, that it has a light function when it detects movement in the dark - a good feature. The light is soft and not very bright - ideal as a night light. It performs self tests on itself and will alert you on the app - the device health can be monitored on the app. A great smart addition moving me a step closer to a smarter home.

A well functioning aesthetically pleasing device. It comes properly packaged with al the needed elements and instructions for self installation. Easily connects to your smartphone and the rest is explained step by step on your smartphone.

I just moved into a new house with a full suite of gas appliances. Of course, the house only had smoke detectors; nothing for CO. Seeing as how I have been using Nest products for a long time, it only made sense to replace my detectors with the Nest Protect. I purchased two of these, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Installation was a breeze, literally its 3 wires and 4 screws; plus the instructions are very straight forward. Setup was also super easy through the Nest app. My only gripes are with the Pathlight and how the Protect ties into the home wiring. Nest advertises the Pathlight as being a fairly focused and bright nightlight, however, the light is very scattered and isn't as bright as expected. But, the fact that it turns on when you walk by is a nice feature! As far as the wiring goes, the Protect does NOT utilize the wiring that allows preexisting detectors to "talk" to each other; meaning, if the protect goes off it will not trigger non Protect detectors. Keep this in mind if you have a very large house as Protects will only trigger each other and your phone. Overall, I'm happy with the Protect. It serves its purpose, and I'll end up replacing the rest of my current detectors with Protects.

One of the best in the market, easy set up, the carbon monoxide specially when you are sleep or in the morning when you first start the car, plus the night path light was a plus.

Great product. Easy to install. We needed for a home refinance & this product made it painless. The night light feature has come in handy also.

Easy to install, integrates with Wink easily. Night light as you walk under in the dark and does it’s own health checks and lets you know when it’s went off or how it did on those checks, provided by a monthly report.

Combine these with your Nest Thermostat's and the app integration is wonderful. The little nightlight feature is a nice touch as well. It will auto activate when it senses motion to light your path. Clean easy set up and install.

Super easy to install and set up. No third communication wired needed they use internal wifi to talk to each other and very easy to check through the app... Just wish would connect to google home..

Bought 4 units.... easy installation. You may skip the testing steps and do that when it is installed completely to avoid the loud beeping while testing. The app is simple... indeed it is too simple that you would question the cost associated with the unit. You will love the guiding light glowing when you walk by at night....unfortunately, it does not work with Alexa...but I do not see the need to lonk the detector to Alexa. Though this is the second gen of nest smoke detector.... it does not look futuristic or blend into the surrounding. This would probably my only issue.

Easy to install. Have 3 total and all are working flawlessly. They are a little pricey, but worth the peace of mind. Would definitely purchase again. Best Buy makes it easy to purchase and at a good price

Easy to install, easy to program with the App. Love the night light feature. Monthly e-mail's with system status checks make sure you everything is working correctly. I have installed 3 thus far and they are great.
