Great product! I am a NEST fan I think all of their products are GREAT! I waited until I found these on sale and purchased 3 now I need to purchase the rest. Love being able to check on my phone and seeing the status gives some reassurance when traveling etc. Also it has a night light setting when you approach at night it lets puts out a dim light to help you see. This thing is next level!

Just because they are a lifetime ahead of the classic fire alarm, I have to give this 5 stars. I hope to never hear the old style alarms again. With that said, this beauty also was our first alert to some recent house flooding. I would love to say it was because of expert AI, but it's only because it got shorted out from the water. Still, it worked as a 3-in-1 alarm for us.

For several months we were having issues with chirping sounds and false alarms from our traditional smoke alarms. We changed a couple but still had problems from time to time and usually on the middle of the night or other inconvenient times. Our dog was going nuts with the loud sound and they are very difficult to shut down. With the Nest all these issues are gone, it can alert you before going off and you can control using your phone or tablet. Fantastic product, easy to set up and very reliable.

We added this second Nest protect to our home. We have a Nest thermostat and they all work together. If we had a smoke or fire emergency the Nest protect will shut down the HVAC system to prevent smoke from flooding the entire house. Anyhow, I installed the detector myself and it took me maybe 15 minutes to complete. It is VERY simple and easy to install, and I honestly am not a handyman whatsoever. Every time one of our old smoke detectors beep with that annoying low battery signal I replace it with a new Nest Protect.

Was easy to install, sinked easy with the nest thermostat system. I like that there are not batteries to have to change!

Great smoke detector! Easy install and integration

Works as advertised, nice being notified of power outages when away from home and being able to silence the alarm with your phone, no need to fan it if it goes off from cooking The night light feature works perfectly off when you’re not near it and lights the way as you approach.

This is a great item. I know its a bit expensive, but you get 2 for one (Smoke & Carbon Detector). Easy to install & looks great.

We recently bought a house that was 11 years old, so yes, of course we had to replace all of our smoke detectors. It was easy, and it was cool they could also communicate with each other. We even tested one to see if the "room specific" alerting works. It does. These smoke/carbon monoxide detectors will actually tell you which room the smoke was detected. They can also be silenced by your phone so no more ladders needed when you have to change the battery.

We replaced our old smoke detectors with Gen 2 Nest smoke/CO units. Inital set up was easy and the app provided the necessary information to make the process go smoothly. Our units are hardwired and there were only 3 wires to connect so that went smoothly as well. I particularly like the night light feature of the detectors. I thought it might be hokey but after using it for several weeks, I've really grown to like it.

The fire alarm was easy to install, and integrates easily on the app, The app runs monthly tests and let you know if there is an issue. The light option is also good for like a hallway or common room.

I have been converting my home to a "smart home" by changing out the switches and other devices and I purchased the NEST thermostat, so I figured that the smoke/CO detectors should also be included. This is the best thing I have done to keep that peace of mind for my family, I have eleven of them and they all test themselves and give me a report on my phone to let me know that they're working properly. They beat out any other detector out in the market.

After we determined which breaker shut off the power, the installation was a breeze. It was easy to add to the other Nest items we have on the app, it checks on itself every day. There are five more to install. Look good on the ceiling.

Does what you expect, but a bit pricy. The night light mode is a nice feature.

Works great. I like the nightlight feature and the ability to monitor all my smoke detectors through the app.

The options and safety features are a must. I love how it communicates with the thermostat if there’s an alarm and shuts down any heat or air conditioning so there’s no smoke or CO circulated through the house via the fan. The sensing light is a nice convenience and has probably saved a few bones in this house. I know they communicate without the actual wire in the house that is used for that purpose, but Nest should incorporate one anyway. Without it, this product is not to code in many places. I’m not even sure if it is to code here, probably not, as my town’s fire codes are very strict. I wouldn’t have used it if it weren’t for batteries and generator. I do also feel they could come down on the price a bit. I’m hoping as time goes on, competition will force Nest to be a little more fair in their pricing.

Looks cool and easy to install over old alarm. Night light is cool.
