I have wanted one of these for a while now and finally have one set up was easy my son watched a YouTube video and came over and installed in about 10 mins, looks great and positioning is great . I’ve to have both smoke and carbon monoxide detector in one plus it announces before alarm goes off if your just cooking ( haven’t had this happen yet)

I rate the Nest - Protect 2nd Generation Smart Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Wired Alarm highly because of the straightforward installation instructions along with the mobile app control and monitoring. The physical installation took a little over 10 minutes (I replaced a previously wired unit ) and setting up the mobile app took another 10 or so minutes. The instructions were clear and accurate.

Love these nest products. We had them in last house and we're working on getting everything in this one replaced. Nest smoke detectors are easy to set up and I love how they talk to each other. I love being able to use the nest app on my phone to check their status. I use it to see if my WiFi is still up or if we'd had a power outage, the wired ones keep track of that. Lighting up while you walk under is fantastic esp for small children.

Extremely pleased with easy setup. Decided on AC powered unit since it has it's own battery backup. Setup a breeze and even better -- adding a second unit automatically recognized the first unit so setup was even faster. Nightlight feature more handy than I imagined! Units just did a simple test cycle - nice to know it's working. Will definitely be adding more to our home.

Well built. Easy installation to existing wired system. Night glow feature is a big plus.

I bought the Nest Protect because I already had a Nest Thermostat and needed a CO Alarm in my house. I replaced one of my existing smoke-only detectors with the Protect and the install was a breeze. If there is a negative about this device, it is the price. There are other cheaper combo Smoke/CO detectors but since I already had a Nest device I believe it was worth the little extra to get the Protect and have them integrated.

Great smoke alarm with Remote silencing through the NEST App. Favorite feature is the night light when it senses motion. Just the right amount of light to see where you're going. I prefer the wired over the battery especially when you have the sensor activate for motion.

It was easy to install and setup to Wifi. App is very nice and pairs great with my nest theormastate.

These are the perfect companion for the smart home. There is both a wired and battery version. It alerts you in the event of smoke or fire. But, this is more than a smart smoke detector. It is a night light that lights up when motion is detected, perfect for those late night trips to the fridge. The Nest Protect also lets the Nest know that you're home even if you haven't walked in front of your thermostat.

Two huge advantages. 1st these detectors can tell the difference between a warning situation (such as casserole overflowing in oven) and an emergency (get out). 2nd is ability to monitor, and silence warnings, with a mobile app. Super easy to configure with the app, too. We got the wired detectors to replace old wired ones. Highly recommended.

These smart Smoke/CO alarms provide a real layer of confidence as they are constantly running self checks and are easy to test without damaging your hearing. Plus they will alert you of any issues silently on your phone rather than beeping at 3am and waking your baby. They also work in coordination with our nest thermostat to detect when we are home and save electricity on the AC.

Easy to hook up and easy to use. Now Google Home knows whats what at my casa all day long.

Prefer the wired version so don’t have to worry about battery changes (still has battery backup for power outages). Like the pathway lighting feature in addition to primary safety fire/smoke and CO2 features. Does automated monthly testing as well as continuous checks. Also like the app to allow remote notifications.

Easy to install. Love the nightlight and the green notification that tells you the device is working as expected. Also, I like that Nest will notify your phone if there’s a malfunction or a concern.

I bought this so that I could monitor for fire/co2 when I was away from home to make sure my dog is safe. It works great with my nest thermostat and i've been very happy with it. You can check in on the app anytime to verify nothing's wrong, and it also runs monthly hardware checks automatically. It will let you know if the battery is low too. All in all worth it to have at least one of these in the house.
