This is our 3rd one in the house. Works great with the app. The night light motion at night is a really nice feature too. Worth the money

These are great detectors. They're easy to set up, they connect well, and the app features are pretty good. Smoke detectors aren't really something to get too excited about, though this one comes close, and is FAR less irritating than any other smoke detector I've dealt with before. I don't have one of their thermostats yet, but given the interconnect (these both help make the thermostat more efficient, and the CO detection will tell the thermostat to turn off the furnace), I'll probably pick one of those up sometime soon.

I have owned this for several years in a studio apartment and just bought more for our new house. Super simple to install and setup and great app! Being able to silence the alarm with the wave of a hand or quick press of the button is wonderful! Love how they interact and broadcast issues in another room by the name you have given the room/alarm. Only brand I will ever buy!

Just bought our first home and we were unsure how old the smoke detectors were in the home so we had to replace them. We decided to buy these as they triple as a Smoke detector, CO2 detector and a night light. Alerts will be sent directly to me via nest which in an event of an emergency and I’m not home I can call 911.

These smoke/carbon monoxide detectors are excellent and easy to setup. If you have more than one they all connect together so if one goes off they all do

I love these. I like the self-testing feature, the security of knowing that it's in good working order just by checking the status in the app, and the early warning feature (it tells you about smoke detection using a voice before it goes into full-on alarm mode). Also, the status light doubles as a night light in the dark when you walk under it, or you can set it to always stay on when the lights go out.

After buying the three pack of these detectors, I am super impressed by everything they do. The installation was incredibly easy, and I had zero problems with the Nest application setup. What's more is that the detector does a self diagnosis every day to let you know that everything is working perfectly. It's amazing to have a peace of mind knowing that your family is protected.

Love these little guys. Just like how they have the night light option as well as giving you an verbale cue on what room is having the issue etc.

Our old smoke detectors were clearly not working, despite having new batteries. Rather than getting some cheap smoke alarms that of course will need new batteries in the middle of the night, I decided an upgrade was due. I love that these are visible on the app over wifi and you can see the status, run a test, etc. from anywhere. That they talk to you before going off is also a nice feature. Highly recommended!

This is my 3rd protect unit. I love it because it's simple to install and it offers some thoughtful feature like voice notification and motion detected night light. For those that have children, this is a great way to have lighted pathway for when they wake up at night without the extra need of a plug in night light. The motion detection is sensitive and far enough that turns on a bright enough led to see.

I have had a Nest Protect in my home for 6 years. I liked it so much that when it expired (all carbon monoxide detectors expire) I decided to buy two new ones, so that I could have one upstairs and one downstairs in my house. It's a little thing, but I love the night light feature!

Replaced 10 old detectors that were failing. Great upgrade. Easy setup and install for both wired and battery versions, setup and install of all 10 took less than an hour! No more smoke alarms while showering, chirping detectors in the middle of the night, and now can recycle the wall plug CO detectors. Thermostat, video cams, detectors all in 1 app. Well worth the investment!

Installation of the product went well...Everything looks good and seems to be working and the setup went smoothly...Appreciate Colten from American Fork store who worked with me to get things done...He was very accommodating throughout the process. Really like the product and the safety features associated with it.

These have been great. We bought them to replace similar devices from another brand that were literally a nightmare. I wish I had bought these to begin with.

•Easy to add to the app. •Wired detectors deal with cutting power, cutting off old “plug”, matching wires together, then plugging new “plug” into new detector. So not exactly the plug and go I was under the impression these were. •Battery operated ones are super easy to install. Now to my frustration. I knew these weren’t HomeKit compatible. I took a chance on them anyways. Why? I didn’t find a smart or non smart smoke detector that I liked for our needs. So..... I got this anyways. The having to bounce back and forth between the Nest and Google Home apps is annoying. All of the bouncing just to add people to my Nest account. What a pain in the thumbs. WHY? This is a big question when the detectors don’t even show up in Google Home. WHY? So here’s my input if anyone from Google chooses to read this... Pick an app. Put it all together. Make it function. I honestly think I know some teenagers that could design this and make it not only look better, but have a functionality that would actually make sense. I really worry about the future if you aren’t willing to play nice with the your own family much less the others in your neighborhood. If I were you, I would have purchased Nest. Made it compatible with all major home automation infrastructures and benefited from the expansion of sales. However, I would have offered expansion on automation ability for all the devices in Google home. (Think ITTTT) If you build it well and play nice with others you win on all fronts. (And your customers will LOVE you)!

Installing this was a cinch. Especially for replacing old smoke detectors. Just be sure if your system is wired for 120v to get the correct one. Many customer service agents don't really know the difference or know that there are different nest protect detectors. I've replaced my whole house with nest protect and really enjoy the ease of running tests and monitoring power outages while away from home.

Had the 1st Generation and just upgraded to the 2nd Generation. Other than the ceiling plate and wiring harness needing to get changed out, it was very simple to install. Ended up purchasing enough to replace all of the smoke detectors in my house that were just the regular non-smart smoke detectors that came with the house.

The product seems great. It is easy to install and well instructed. The integration with the nest app is great. I just wish that they teamed up with other notification services to monitor the smoke alarm.

Easy to install and use. Night light is a huge plus.

I never thought that I would spend over $100 on a single smoke detector, but after getting our first nest protect to replace a malfunctioning detector we have added another and plan on at least one more. The ability to test the unit from anywhere and get updated results of test on my phone is great. They work with my thermostat as motion sensors. Even the nightlight is a nice touch.
