The hardware seems to work perfectly - zero false alarms (though I don't know what if anything it might have missed). The app was possibly committed by amateurs - at least the version before Google became involved. Now I just don't bother with it since it is not too necessary, the Google/Nest network goes out from time-to-time, and Google doesn't seem to give it much love.

This smoke/carbon monoxide detector is very cool and nice to look at. You can tell it is a quality product once you start to open the package. Was extremely easy to install and looks great on the wall. It's almost fun to have an alert!

I like these alarms (see review for battery version). This one is wired to 110v and we have the nightlight option turned on. It is very helpful at night. Do not use that feature in a bedroom though as it turns on every time you move!

Great unit, easy install, and effective app with helpful controls. Makes it simple to add additional detectors as well with pairing functionality. Not cheap, but worth it if you want smart products that give peace of mind.

These are great if you already have wired smoke detectors in your house. It lets you monitor your home from anywhere, and you can even just add one of these to your existing setup and it will work flawlessly with the existing dumb smoke detectors.

I love these Nest protects. They have an option for a night light and senses and records any motion events. They are also excellent smoke & CO detectors. They will test themselves on a regular basis and work together with other protects if there is an incident.

Best combination smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector on the market. Full functioned, smart device with good connectivity. We have basic First Alert smoke detectors (hardwired and interconnected) for the bedrooms and have the Nest unit as an independent device in the hallway.

The integration with my other best products is great and I like that you get notification that there is smoke in the room and the “alarm may sound.” It prepares you if you’re cooking something that gives off a lot of smoke.

Te Nest Protect was easy to install. I bought a second and third so I have one on AC and the other on batteries. We kept the other wired alarms in all other rooms . Testing is easy frrom Google Home but warning...it is loud!!!

I was on the fence buying these. IoT is a great idea though I am always worried about the security of IoT. I finally caved and bought these. They are great. Pathlight is cool. Remote testing and shutoff is awesome especially when someone burns toast. Consumer reviews say the carbon monoxide detection and smoke detection is as good as a traditional detector so I feel just as safe. My only complaint is that it does not use a hard wire to trip all alarms, but relies on wifi. What if my router melted first?

works pretty good, I did get 1 false alarm from steam from the nearest bathroom. The night light feature is a nice touch.

They look pretty cool in the ceiling and do exactly what they’re supposed to. You can check the app and look at the history to make sure there are no problems. Also, if the house is dark at night, they’ll light your way as you’re walking by.

Great thermostat, love the smart features and works well

I was nervous about installation since our wiring was for an older smoke/co detector. Just watched an install and it was super easy to install and get 3 detectors added to my Nest app. I am VERY relieved how easy it was!

I took down 2 hardwired Smoke Detectors in my Condo to install these, and I am very happy! Managing them through the Nest App is a plus! Love the Pathlight feature, also VERY easy to install. This gives you better peace of mind when it comes to safety in your home.

So far, we are very pleased with our Nest Smoke detectors. An added bonus is the night light that some on in the dark when you approach its location. We also appreciate the smart phone link up for notifications.

Love the nest products that can let me keep track of things in an instant and piece of mind when I'm not at home. Love all the little features besides just being a smoke/CO2 detector like shining a light in the walkway at night and the reassurance that things are working fine.

I’m very happy with my Nest Protect. Easy to install, easy to setup in the app, and - as far as I can tell - it’s playing a valuable role in keeping us safe. The motion activated nightlight is a nice touch.

I have multiple Nest products and enjoy the Nest App to monitor and control these devices. The quality is excellent and ease of use is great. If you are considering Smart devices for your home the Nest family of products will exceed your expectations.
