Nest's infrastructure is pretty strong - from Security Cams to Thermostats to Fire Alarms. I can test all my alarms from my phone, check they're functioning well, get alerted when there's an issue and I'm away from home, I can see the status of all the sensors any time.

The detector works seamlessly and looks great. I like the additional features of the occupancy sensor and highlight. However, I’m taking a star away as I don’t get notifications from the Nest app. Had to get a Starling and set it up through HomeKit to get notifications, which is the main point of this.

Nice addition to our google ecosystem. My favorite part is that it works as a night light as well. Easy to link with google app.

We love the Google nest detectors. They are such a nice finish to our home. We bought 2 of them for different parts of our home. So far, we haven't had any issues. They look great, very modern.

Perfect for use in your smart home. So many helpful features: Automatic testing, Alarms sounds on all devices, Automatic night lights and proximity sensors for home/away determination.

I purchased five units and so far it’s been great! I love the path lights at night and calming green light that lets me know I’m protected. Having the ability to monitor from my cell while away is great! I feel that my pets are in good hands while I’m gone.

Absolutely love these! I never have to wonder what's going on, and if I set a peice of toaster in the toaster to long I never have to grab a stool to silence the smoke alarm. I love that they integrate with the nest thermostat. In the event of an emergency they will send a signal to the thermostat to shut off the air; you wouldn't want to add air into a fire or spread smoke! The pathway lighting is also an amazing feature, I can navigate my entire home at night without turning on a single light.

This is my 4th Nest Protect and I absolutely love it and recommend to all. Now you can relax and sleep well with no fear of false alarm or chirping sound. I also love the glow and the auto-test features.

Great smoke detector. Puts you at ease that you can get alerts on your phone if you are not home. Added night like is a great bonus

I have 5 at my house and this is the 4th at my daughter's. She had a failed smoke alarm at her home (recently purchased after a complete remodel) and there were new smoke detectors installed by code. But they were junk, albeit a "famous" brand commonly seen at the home improvement store. Two had started "peeping" despite new 9v batteries, so they were my first "housewarming " gift to her. But this last month, a alarm sounded while she was at the grocery. Her neighbor heard the alarm, knocked on the door of the empty house, and with no answer, called the Fire Dept. The FD arrived, jimmied the basement window, and removed the falsely alarming detector, leaving a gracious note. So she got another upgrade, and has another smoke/monoxide detector that will send her a message on her phone if there is an alert, rather than hoping a neighbor hears the alarm. Eventually we will replace them all with Nests!!

Love that I can control this easily through the Google Home Hub and app on my phone. They also have scheduled tests on a set frequency so that you can ensure that system is working fine.

These are easy to install and I really like that the carbon monoxide is combined with the smoke detector. The system will send you monthly reports on your phone through the app. I definitely recommend these.

Never thought I would get geeked about a smoke alarm but this one geeks me out. Love the fact that I can get alerts on my phone without an alarm system contract. The path lights are great - configurable brightness and actuation per device. Loud alarms and reassuring quiet with the goodnight light. Had one problem setting up - it did not like that I had two wireless access points with same SSID. Had to check forums to find that. Once I shut one off temporarily setup was simple and easy. Neat device- bought a second one and will buy more. Well engineered - even the mounting plate lets you lock the device to the plate yet twist it into the position you want. Well thought out. I'm hooked on Nest yet an Apple fanboi. Guess Tony Fadell has the magic!

Love the ease of use, quality unit great control of units

I added a few of these to my Nest products already in my house. Really like the features and they look really nice. Prices are a little high but so far they seem to be worth the added cost. Also like the night lights that are in them!

Going through the steps to set this up was a bit confusing at first, especially when you'd have to set it up first before installing it to wall/ceiling with hot wires. Once it was up connected to the net and Nest's app, it became clear that it was quite easy. I bought 2 so the second one was just a breeze in setting it up. Bought these as a 2-pack offer from BB and they were quite a saving.

This is a great addition to my house fire alarm system. We purchased two one for our upstairs hallway and the other down stairs. The bonus is no more late night feeling around in the dark with the nest built in night light built on motion sensors. Great overall product.

We have 3 units in the house and I love how they communicate with each other and that they have built in motion activated lighting options!! Everything is in the box for install, assuming you have regular wiring, I’d imagine. Love controlling our Google/Nest products from the apps, but I do wish these were viewable from the Google Home app. I had to add them to the Nest app which was a little disappointing. Especially since they’re the only 3 items out of my 13 that aren’t viewable in the Home app.

Oh man..just so much easy to install and setup. Overall time from start to end is 15 mins max. Super awesome product.
