Great item, works amazing connected to your phone and also look fancy

I bought this first to compliment the rest of my nest system. Turns out the feature I like most about it is the lighting it makes as I pass through the hall. High price for a smoke alarm but additional features make it worth it.

Our house needed a CO detector and these are definitely more slick than the older style wall mount ones. Plus it will be good to have an alert if something happens when we are out of the house:

blends with ceiling, when detects motion has a soft light that appears and functions as a night light, perfect if you have high ceilings as you can switch it off or test it from your phone without climbing or searching for objects that might reach. great investment!

My first nest product was the thermostat. I pondered the idea of getting the nest-protect for nearly 2yrs. I am happy with my decision of finally getting this unit. Easy to install and set up. I like that I can monitor this unit at any given time.

Clean and low profile. Hugs the ceiling. Easy to install following direction. Easy to connect to wifi network with and incorporate into my Nest ecosystem. Would buy a second one.

Have upgraded all my smoke detectors to Nest, easy to install and set up in your phone. Allowing you to have full visibility un all rooms from your phone (specially when away). Overall great product, extremely happy with the upgrade.

I love these. I put off purchasing them for years due to the cost. But these are a GAMECHANGER if you cook anything smoky. They are excellent at noting the difference between a little bit of cooking smoke and an actual fire. And, worst case, if it is too smoky, they give you notice they will alarm and allow you to silence from your phone. Other small features are nice (e.g., nighttime motion-sensing lighting for hallways) but the high quality sensor is what is worth it. I bought one, tested next to "regular" smoke alarms, and then went and bought two more.

After a crazy night where I attempted to turn off my previous smoke detector, I immediately go this bad body. It's been a month since I haven't experienced any alarms but I do love the nightlight feature when I'm walking to my bathroom.

All indication is that this is an easy install, idiot proof. The good news is that it’s actually better than easy. For years, only those unsightly detectors were available. This changes things.

I was able to hook up the devises easily, however ran int difficulties with one of them. So I called and received a white glove assistance with completion of installation, so both units work proficiently. Very happy with products.

Easy setup, and look good on the ceiling. I plan to buy more in the coming weeks.

best nest product. super easy to install and connect to the app. I bought one to test it out and ended up replacing the rest of my smoke detectors with nest shortly after.

We figured we would upgrade our smoke detectors one at a time. We chose nest because we already have the thermostat and it has been great. The nest protect installed easy as can be and hooked up to our network in about a minute.

been wanting to get this product for a long time, finally able to buy one when one of my fire detectors went out. I feel safer just by having it in my house the night light feature is very helpful and the green halo is very reassuring. I bought 2.

After having 2 of our Kidde wired smoke/CO alarms give out false positives over the three month period (and scaring us in the middle of the night, no less), we decided to make the investment in the Nest smart detectors. Having a combination of 9 wired and wireless detectors in the house, it was costly, but it has been about 2 weeks since the relatively painless install and setup was completed, and so far the peace-of-mind that comes with knowing that the detectors are constantly monitoring themselves and will alert ahead of time if something is out of whack is nice. Unfortunately, there is no way to have them trigger our HVAC to shut off in an actual emergency, but that is because we have Ecobee thermostats. Not the fault of Nest, just the true nature of a very fractured smart home market.

The nest is a great choice for protection. The bugs have been worked out concerning the log in. Fixing that was easy by uninstalling and reinstalling. Overall I’m very happy with it.

I already own two of the previous generation nest protects and these are a slight improvement. Adding the new protect to my existing network was a breeze. It works very well, looks great and I love getting notifications on my iPhone when there is trouble at home.

I am happy with our Nest Protect. My husband was able to get it installed in just a few minutes. Our biggest dilemma was deciding which smoke detector to replace. We will eventually replace other detectors in the house with other Nest Protects.
