Great smoke and carbon monoxide dectector. A little pricy for a dectector. Nice features like the motion sensor with the night light option and the good night glow ring to let you know it is working when turning out the lights. I wish there was a way to get more data from the sensors to monitor trends with in the home. I like that I can link it to other apps in the house as well.

First, stick with the 2nd generation model. Had on for 3 months now and it works as advertised. night light is a good feature and daily self testing is a plus.

This is a 1000x better than your average smoke detector. You can turn off false alarms using your phone, and you don't get that annoying beep when typical detectors run out of batteries.

This Nest Protect Smoke Detector is an excellent choice for replacing old wired detectors. It has a battery back up. This Smoke Detector was easy to install and integrate with my other nest products.

installing this can be a bit of a challenge if you have ancient smoke detectors like I do. I had to cut the wires and strip them to get them to fit into the nest. Also positioning it on the wall and clicking it into place was somewhat of a challenge so you get it straight. Still confused on how I finally got it to be straight. But I like that it lights up when you walk by it.

We returned because the app was very confusing, and it doesn't notify you of smoke/CO detector events on your phone. You must download two apps, actually - Nest and Google Home, to use it. That right there is confusing. The reason we bought this was to remotely monitor my mother's house in another state for fire safety. We discovered that when an event occurs, such as the smoke alarm going off, an event shows up in the app, but it doesn't give you any notification on your phone. So the only way I would know of a fire if I am not in the house would be if I were constantly checking the app for a new event. I saw no way to turn on notifications in either app. Apparently, you would get notified before on older versions, but maybe with the latest/Google version, the notifications stopped happening. The young lady, Nesha, who handled the return for my mother at the Best Buy in Fort Myers, was delightful and made the return process fast and simple.

I was able to connect the old wires strait to the new nest and very happy with the end result. Even lights up my hallway when I'm taking the dog out at night. :)

Easy to I stall and very nice decor. I tried the smoke alarm to see how it would respond. Very loud and also turned on.ky nest cam and sent me a notice.

This is the best smoke detector on the market! I have three of them and love how they monitor battery life, sound and update you through the app.

Excellent product and alerts entire home where trouble may be with audible spoken warnings rather than just beeps. Also provides great night light by motion when walking in the dark.

Great product. I feel better knowing what could happen with my dogs at the house while I'm at work and that I'll be alerted. Easy to set up.

Great smoke detector . Huge bonus you can assign a time to be informed about the battery being low. Not 2 am when most Batteries die. Fantastic!

Bought three of these when our smoke detectors started going bad. Replace all three in the house and synced them all to my nest thermostat in about 40 minutes. Really easy to use and test.

Now have 2 thermostats and 4 smoke/carbon monoxide detectors installed in my house. I installed and it was very easy, good directions and a pretty simple process. They look great.

Expensive, but easy to set up. Works with my other Nest Protect devices. Replacement for a non-Nest alternative that conked out.

Nest doesn't disappoint with this. Took longer to figure out what circuit my hardwired alarms needed to be turned off. Seamless fit, nightlight motion feature is awesome.

Easy to install and a great networked system. Make sure you install the app so you have warning on the few times that it will test throughout the year if you are home

This is the second one we have trying to replace our old detectors. I like the talking part and the way i set it up where it serves as a night light. Will be buying a few more for the whole house.

Easy set up and install. Love that I can monitor the home remotely for safety with Fire Smoke and Co2 alarm alerts. Will buy more for the rest of the home.
