Expensive but worth the money

The path light (wired version) is a really cool feature. Two year battery life is great with the ability to see the battery's health. No more annoying chirps in the middle of the night because a battery is dead.

It's Worth the Money

Nest Wired Smoke Alarm

Easier install from first one. Make sure you have.a Nest APP and smart phone ready. When installing the base to ceiling, do not over tighten screws, because they will crack base. The instructions are good, with more on the app you use to install.

Honestly, the first Nest I purchased was buggy (the back-up battery indicator kept going off after about 3 months of using). Google has great customer support, they troubleshoot the product and determined it was faulty and promptly shipped a new unit. Everything is working perfectly to date. The initial product I was a little disappointed, but giving this review full stars because of the Google customer support, and product replacement.

But can't connect to google home only connects to Nest app. This product will expire in 10 years make sure to check the expiration date before install.

Having the Nest Protect integrated with your other smart devices in the Home app can be a great addition to its features and functionality. We’re always listening to our customers’ feedback, and our team is continuously working on a more seamless solution. We appreciate your patience as we create a better experience.
Meanwhile, with a Nest Aware subscription, your Google speaker or display (Google Home Mini, Google Nest Hub, etc.) can pick up the sound of any smoke or carbon monoxide alarm and send you an alert from the Home app. You need the Home app to turn on sound detection for your speaker or display and change settings.
Also, all carbon monoxide (CO) alarms expire because their sensors have a limited lifespan. Because CO sensors have a limited life expectancy, certification standards require Protect to chirp after its sensors have expired or have failed. To help you remember to replace your Protect before it expires, you’ll receive reminders long before your Protect’s expiry date. You’ll no longer be protected from smoke or carbon monoxide if you don’t replace your Nest Protect when it expires.
