So I have an array of smoke detectors permanently wired in my house. The 8 alarms would go off at least once a month and when one would go, they all went off. Piercing sound and usually at midnight. The Nest Protect monitors a ton of variables and doesn't go off when it shouldn't. Honestly, its expensive, so I only use about 4 of the 8 slots of permanent installs. However, the protect is more sensitive and covers monoxide. Spendy, but I like them and its worth it for me...

Didn’t have a chance to test this because I returned it for the wireless one. Other than that the setup was as easy as connecting any other device to WiFi.

These are great, set up is easy while following the directions. They work perfectly and you can llink them to c omputer, phone, etc to see that they are working. I bought 3!

installation is a snap. price is right. was not sure about night-light feature but impressed now that i have had a chance to use it (and not stub my toes)

Bought 5 of these for the house and they were super easy to connect. The app interface is great too!

The setup for this is easier than a Nest Thermostat b/c it automatically just syncs with your Nest ecosystem if you already have one, and is connected in mins.

Good Smart Smoke Alarm. It is easy to manage via Google Home Application

Love the features but hate the price. When the average house now requires 5 to 8 smoke detectors, per code, it's a tough sell for a contractor.

I purchased and installed three of the Nest Protect smoke/carbon monoxide alarms (one on each floor). They were very easy to install and configure into the app.

A must in your home, I can keep an eye even when I’m not around, easy to Set up and use.

The Nest is pretty amazing. Runs its own self tests, sends messages to my phone if something's wrong, has a great night light feature built into it. We love it

I have been looking at updating my smoke detectors in my home for some time now. Although I wanted something more comprehensive then the single source detector that I already had. I found the Nest to be the most comprehensive detector on the market. Basically 3 detectors in 1, the two type of smoke/fire detectors and the CO was the one that help seal the deal for me. Installation was the hardest part but really not that hard. I installed the wired detectors about 10min to install including testing the wires and electrical connections. After you get the first one done it goes faster after that. The mobile app I thought was a nice feature too since I then would be notified if something is going on while at home or away. The talking alerts were a big plus, no more chasing late night smoke detector chirps to figure out which room its coming from. Now I even have an option to connect wireless detectors in other parts of the house if I want and have them still all connected. Knowing they are good for 10years time will tell how many issues it helps me avoid or have with these units. So far not disappointed with them at all.

I am very glad bought this smart alarm, it is very easy to install, providing a very peace of mind. I can access the safety check history from my phone.

Very user friendly and easy to set up! I love how you get a warning before an alarm.

Had to replace one recently due to a failed CO sensor. Great to have the notification that it has failed before I found out the hard way it wasn't working properly. Plus the peace of mind knowing my house/animals are safe remotely.

I love nest, i have been upgrading my house and adding nest products because of the quality and easy set up.
