I have both and the after a few years my battery version gets drained a lot. This wired one seems to last longer. I like the night light and the ease of setting it up

We're sorry to hear that your experience was less than ideal when it comes to the brightness of the Pathlight feature of your device. You have the option to adjust the brightness of Pathlight for your Nest Protect. You can follow the steps here:
-Tap the Settings icon on the Nest app home screen.
-Scroll down and select the Nest Protect that you want to change settings for.
-If you want to change Pathlight brightness, select Brightness. Then choose Low, Medium, or High.

Controls on the phone come handy

Otherwise it would have been difficult to make the alarm ignore the smoke with an alarm on the roof.

Quick Easy Setup

Worked flawlessly from beginning. Only issue was had to reset the app and detector inorder for the app to recognize it had power and was not running off battery anymore. After reset, working perfect.
