Very easy to setup, configure and to install to replace previous hardwired smoke detectors.

The Nest Protect is incredibly easy to setup. It notifies you when there is danger. It can tell the difference between burnt toast and an actual fire. I can turn off the alarm with my phone instead of grabbing a ladder to climb to it. It also works with the Philips Hue lights and turns them red when there is danger, which gives a visual cue for people who are harder of hearing. The voice also isn't alarming to pets as much as the loud beeps of other alarms.

When we purchased our home it had an older wired system for Smoke Detectors and a separate wired system for Carbon Monoxide. I've been replacing them with these Nest Protects and already have Nest Thermostats and I love the connection between the two, as well as the app notifications whenever smoke triggers an alarm (Even if it's just burnt Bacon in the kitchen). I feel more comfortable in my home having these and can't say enough how important that is today.

I love everything about this. Physical install was easy. Configuration took a few attempts, but once started, it went smoothly. The path lighting was an unexpected favorite feature. I have one at top and bottom of the stairs and we have an LED night light in the landing in the middle - walking to the kitchen for a glass of water is lit perfectly for groggy midnight trips. The automatic tests work great and I feel confident that my family can sleep safely.

This product easily connects with the rest of my Nest Products. It gives me and my wife piece of mind that home is a little bit safer for us in the even of a fire. This product easily replaced an aging wired smoke detector and linked directly to our Nest Thermostat- just remember to cut the power to the smoke detector before you hook up the new one.... I'll be purchase at least two more Nest smoke detectors in the near future to help protect my family.

We have several of the detectors and love them. We placed them where you would traditionally place smoke alarms and detectors (stairwells) we love the motion detecting night lights and so do our guests. The monthly test gets performed automatically and results come right to our phones. My only suggestion is do not use the nightlight feature in a bedroom if you like the dark, it senses motion and for aomeone who tosses and turns a lot it can be distracting

These are easy to install and the app is extremely helpful for monitoring.

Generally these don’t go bad before the expiration date. But I have had two of these go bad for no reason. The first one was replaced by nest. The second I waited and waited for google to do so.. looks like they didn’t like that data point. So I have not received it yet. But it’s been a couple of months. Why did I buy another? Because I have 6 others and didn’t feel like switching to another vendor was a good idea. But I am slowly getting off google.

These smoke and CO detectors are very pleasing to the eye, easy to install and have all the smarts!

Wanted to get a smart smoke alarm to get updates through my phone. We travel, so having piece of mind wasthe goal. My favorite feature is the illumination at night. It will light up the hallway just enough for you to see. This is done through the motion detection so the light isnt always on.
