My house hasnt caught fire so not sure if it works or not. But simple to use and looks nice

Great smoke/CO detector. We had some smoke in the kitchen while cooking and it was pretty cool to have the detectors tell where the smoke was detected. Also, way cool that you can go in the app to silence the alarm before it sounds. Another great feature is being warned when the battery level is low and not the annoying chirp at 2am.

My 6 yr old nest recently failed its internal tests and indicated it needed replaced. I am quite surprised that there isn't a method for exchange rather than a new purchase. While I realize the internal parts (especially the radioactive ones) do fail over time, I'm surprised that there is no recycle/exchange/repair program in place. I bought another one. I'm not sure how long I'm willing to continue this course of action but the product seems to be good--hard to tell since i haven't had any fire or CO problems.

The Nest protect works as expected. Nothing too special about it. A little expensive if you ask me but there is no competition for smart smoke/co detectors...

The device works as the manufacturer describes. Easy set up.

This is the second Nest Smoke Detector for my home. I feel much more confident knowing that I have a combined carbon monoxide and smoke detector working in my home. I also appreciate that these detectors talk to my thermostats and will shut off the heating and cooling in the event they are alarmed. The monthly checkup is great because I don't test my smoke detectors like I should. The pathway lighting is also a nice feature.

I replaced the battery operated smoke detectors in my house with Nest. It literally took me 10 minutes to complete the change. Set up was a breeze using the app. The app can be a bit buggy at times though. Hence the 4 stars.

I bought this smoke detector because I have the Nest ecosystem and I am very satisfied. Actually this is the second one I bought, after experiencing its quality with the first. Also in the middle of the darkness when it detects movement it turns on a dim blue light that serves to prevent accidents and find the place where you are going in the dark of the house

Smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years. I have no idea how old mine was but when my Carbon Monoxide detector quit, I replaced both with one device. Love the nightlight/motion sensor and REALLY LOVE not having a screeching smoke detector when I burn the bacon. A calm voice tells us "smoke is detected " if it doesn't clear the alarm sounds. Will be loud enough to wake dad in case of emergency!

It's pricey for a smoke alarm /CO detector but you get all the bells and whistles. Connects to wifi and you can track any issues when you are away from home. One time I got an alert that smoke was detected but it ended up slowing clearing up. Do not know what the cause was but it's good to know that this works and I have peace of mind if there is a real issues. It's money well spent and even better if you combine it with the Nest Thermostat!

easy to setup and good integration w nest app. A bit fancy for what it's used for but as long as it detects smoke and CO and is loud, than it's perfect

Needed to update two smoke detectors to include carbon monoxide. After purchasing the nest thermostats I knew this was the right route. They are double the cost of a standard smoke/ carbon monoxide detectors but they will alert you via push notifications while you are away. So if you have pets that are home alone rest assure they are protected as well. Also like the fact that it gives you a warning before it just blasts off.

I’ve had the Nest smoke detector for about a year and I always assumed it was doing what it’s supposed to, but who really knows. Well, I recently had smoke in the house and within seconds the Nest was alerting me with an alarm, a voice, and a push notification. It even sent an alarm to my other Nest smoke detector on another floor. Very impressive and I definitely feel well protected.

I have this paired with several nest product to include the thermostat. They all work together. When one of the alarm is activated , they all notify us to the location in question. Nest monthly check is done automatic and save us the trouble of checking them Manuel. We get a report via email of the condition of our product. Awesome tool for automation and smart home concept. I have a total of 7 alarms and 2 thermostat

The Thermostat works as advertised and is a very solid product. Set up is fairly simple and when I called for assistance to check on a wire number, assistance was rapid, pleasant and complete. I prefer its looks. Have not figured how to make my WEMO switch activate when cooling turns on but they show together on my phone. I prefer the way one can interface with this device. I like it better than touch screen.

This was one of the best purchases I have made. These smoke detectors have helped me keep my house safe. Utilizing the app for notifications is very helpful as well. I would definitely recommend!!
