I bought these to replace the builder grade detectors. You know the ones that chirp at completely random times and go off in the middle of the night for no reason even after batteries are changed and there's been no power outages. Apparently they were junk because the Nest detectors have been working great! They are very pleasant which is a weird thing to say about smoke detectors but yeah, we now sleep safe and sound.

Easy setup. No malfunctions or false alarms. Works with the Nest thermostat also.

Quality and ease of installation as expected from nest.

I have this smoke detector in my living room and it blends well with the ceiling, I like that is square and flush, and as far as function is a smart smoke detector that talks...Not exited about the talking function.

I bought 6 of these and love them. The really cool feature is the nightlight.

Overall, install was ok. I had one alarm where the drywall was cut too big and so the small plate that came with the Nest became recessed and I couldn't screw on the actual alarm. Wish they included some hardware for this. Had to sort out a spacing solution. Connected easily to the Nest app without issue. I have some concerns about the Consumer Reports rating on these but it's just one part of a layered solution for smoke and CO that we have, so I'm happy overall. I definitely prefer that talking alarm as opposed to the chirps, beeps, and sirens.

Got this to add to my Nest Ecosystem. Nice to know of a fire, or Carbon Monoxide is present even when I’m away from home. With either, the nest system will shut down the Heat or AC when it senses something to stop the possible spread of smoke or carbon monoxide while I am home. And if it’s a false alarm, it’s nice to be able to shut the smoke dectector off from my phone.

This product is great and was easy to install. Having both fire and CO2 is great too.

I would do anything to avoid the annoying chirping of the standard alarms and this is perfect.

This was one of the best purchases I have made. These smoke detectors have helped me keep my house safe. Utilizing the app for notifications is very helpful as well. I would definitely recommend!!
