I once got an alert of smoke downstairs while at work, turned out one of my family members burned something while cooking but it great to be notified while away

Nest Protect Beats Out The Competition

The bonus to this, it's also a carbon monoxide detector as well. The functionality and the integrations with other nest products is absolutely fantastic!. To top it off, it also works with my hue lights to provide additional warnings. Really a great product!!! At $100 a pop...it's a steal. Also, the interconnect feature on all the nest protect products is bar none...really cool!!! It's a solid product and I truly do feel safer knowing that my family and house are under the watchful of nest protect!

Also I had to satisfy the building inspector by having a wired smoke detector that communicated with another detector in the building. This added to the battery powered Nest detector in a different room made the house safer, and the inspector happy. Also, this works with the thermostat. It will turn the unit off if smoke is detected!

Great detectors!

Link's with additional detectors. Monitor individual detectors in phone app on same screen with other Nest devices. Motion sensitive night light is a great feature. Monthly self checks or on demand checks assure proper functioning.

New Way Is Great

I bought this unit $70 more than I could have purchased a carbon detector because of smoke detector and networking. This is great break through in home monitoring. I am impressed with it enough to start converting in line smoke detectors throughout my house with one of these. I really like it.
