Worth it!

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We've been using these since the first generation, the motion sensor light is great for just enough illumination when you get up in the middle of the night, the alarms are effective (sometimes I wish it had an "I'm just cooking" setting) and remote notification is great.

If you have the app on your smart phone you will sent alerts to it if it even detects anything, so you even if you’re not in the home you will know what’s going on. It also has a light built it that comes on when it senses motion ( the kids love the light ).

We bought 6 of these to replace 2004 units. Am happy with it so far, but it is one of those things that you don't know how well it works til its needed, hopefully never. They also look nicer than old units.

I am a huge fan of NEST products - their customer service is the best - always there to assist with questions for this product or other product. In fact this was a replacement. Keep up the great production NEST!

Great addition to the smart home ecosystem

Works well, but I DID have an issue that required swapping out a few that had been triggered by a CO2 alert and would not come off of the 'alert' status. Fortunately, Nest swapped them out without a hassle.

I have tested them with controlled produced smoke and I cannot say enough about how important it is that the voice warning actually tells you where smoke has been detected. That will make a difference for your getting out of your house alive if it is on fire.
