They look good, but unfortunately, the company was acquired by Google. The app isn't like it used to be. I had 4 of them purchased 7 years ago, and like all smoke detectors, they expired and are no longer usable. I did replace all four of them with new Nest Protects, but Google changed the bracket on back, so it wasn't as easy to reinstall the new device using the old mount. The new mount is a little less substantial.

Costs a little more than standard detectors but the fact that it will notify you if an alarm sounds when you are away is a great feature. All the other technology is also a great way to protect your house and loved ones.

Being a first responder and knowing that talking detectors are a much better option has proven it’s worth with this detector! Would highly recommend them to anyone that has a nest thermostat.

You get much peace of mind by having these and always having access to the data from your phone. I highly recommend these!

Easy to pair with phone and wi-fi if you already have other Nest alarms installed. Supply seems to be short when I went back to buy more of these.

Smoke and monoxide detection 2. Monthly auto system check 3. motion sensor for night light 4. ios app 5. able to link lights and other alarms 6. able to identify which detector by location The one feature it does not have is Homekit by apple or SIRI. Comparing other smoke alarms they did not have all 6 feature which I consider a minimum.

Whether its a fire, or carbon monoxide poisoning. This gives me the peace of mind knowing that if something were to happen I could get home quickly, or better yet that Nest would take action to stop it.
