Nest Protect is simply the smartest and best carbon/smoke detector on the market. Easy to install, simple instructions, easy set up and beautiful design. Purchased 2 and will be purchasing 6 more in the near future to complete the swap. While expensive, you get what you pay for.

Love these. Awesome interface, spoken commands and announcements. Replaced the 1st generation unit. I hope it speaks in 10 years during the day that it's time for replacement, instead of beeping wildly at 3 am like the 1st gen did...

If you have a nest thermostat they are great since they all are in the same eco system. Is it worth the money over a standard fire/smoke detector? Probably not, but for the techy person or someone crating a smart home they are great to have!

this is a perfect smoke alarm this is the 2nd one I purchased as I have fairly high ceilings in living room and master bedroom - hard to change batteries at 12 feet, I highly recommend it well worth the cost.

I own a Nest thermostat and a Nest Home Protect! LOVE the app and the technical support after installing to make sure everything looked good on their end. I am 100% in support of this product and NEST overall! Exceptional products and customer service. Easy to install yourself! Don't pay someone to do it for you!

Bought this to integrate with other (non-Nest or WiFi) detectors in the house but there is no third wire. Otherwise, easy setup and reliable.

I own many google/Nest products, including one previously installed Nest smoke and carbon monoxide detector. The person who installed the first one couldn’t get it to connect to my wifi, which wasn’t an issue when I installed my thermostats, doorbell, or camera, so I thought he must have missed a step. I ordered a few more of these to put throughout my house, and I swear I can’t get them to connect to my other devices. I’ve tried every troubleshooting suggestion I can find, but to no avail. I know these work well even without Wi-Fi connection bc it has alerted us to burning food more than a few times. They are very easy to install, but I’m knocking bc they are the only Nest devices I’ve consistently had trouble connecting.

Solid build and more curse on this current generation. No issues during setup and works well with the rest of the Nest products line. The only con is the cost.

We have 6 of these and are soon getting our 7th. We also have two thermostats and the camera. All sync together and are managed in one easy-to-use app! It's also a learning system so it's pretty low-maintenance. Never had an issue with any of the products.

I got the wired option. It was easy to install and working well. Particularly like the fact that it self test and I will not need to replace for 10 years.

Has nice features can get alerts through your cell phone with the nest app. Voice alerts as well. More expensive than traditional smoke / CO2 detectors

Bought two of these to replace my old ones after buying a thermostat. Wiring is well explained and syncing was a breeze. Like how if it detects carbon monoxide it automatically tells the thermostat to shut off. Like how it senses when someone is walking by so it'll light up the walkway. Great product overall.

Works great. Love that a night light comes on with motion detection. A nice added feature I feel safe knowing that my nest protect is on and functioning.

Nest products are always expensive but they last longer and well build. Nest protect 2nd gen also expensive but safety is more important than money. After I installed 2 of them; one for downstairs and one for upstairs I feel more comfortable. I can sleep better because I know Nest will protect me and my family.

I decided to swap out my existing detector because the Nest Protect integrates well with my other smart home products. I also like it's illumination when motion is detected so that at night it helps when kids wake up. The installation is a cinch so long as one has the appropriate tools. Set up is also a cinch.

This is a great smoke detector it hooks up easily.

Excellent product. Offers the security of being notified in the event the alarm is triggered. The motion activated light is also a great feature. A bit pricey but Best Buy had a sale on 2.

Setup was a little difficult at first...but once I got started it went smooth. 5 units installed, works with my Nest thermostat/Nest app. Replaced existing “wired” smoke detectors....no more dead 9v batteries beeping in the middle of the night.

Second time bought Nest protectors, still excellent. (They expire about every 9-10 years.) Need to make sure you understand what’s going on when it is beeping or talking, as we might want to ignore them, but they are usually correct,
