I was thinking this is going to be a waste of money but my new apartment was really getting on my last : S every time I was cooking but this nest safe my life I love them and really recommend it

You can't go wrong with the Nest Protect. This is my 2nd and 3rd in the house. The first one I had is battery powered. Basic level wiring skills needed. It's not difficult at all. I highly recommend them!

Bought for my daughters new home, i own one too, I totally recommend this. Peace of mind from being able to get alerts on your phone if away, great safety product.

Nest Protect 2nd Generation Smart Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Wired Alarm White S3003LWES is a great smoke detecter for nest app on phone and it light up make noise if cooking smoke is in kitchen on the first night but everything find good product .

Opened the box, followed the instructions, wired up the Nest Protect and that's it. The hardest part was finding the Circuit Breaker to shut off the power. The wifi is reliable on this product and never disconnects, it does what it is intended to do!

Wife wanted to upgrade the basic detector in our kitchen area that is a bad area for baking or using the oven above 350f. Has been a great smart home addition

Great WiFi connected smoke detector. Works great when paired with multiple Nest Protect detectors. They announce the location where the smoke is. Will send alert to your iPhone.

It’s a cool add on to the nest products and works great. I started my old car in the garage and left and 10 minuets later I get an alert saying co is too high. Problem is it went off all day and I couldn’t cancel because I was too far way.

These second generation units are excellent. I have about 16 of them between two houses. They are expensive but worth the price of mind and notifications are wonderful.

this device actually works it works so good it's notified us when there's smoke in the kitchen when my wife accidentally over cook something and it also emailed me letting me know there was smoke in the house how awesome is that

functionally this is just an improvement over the Gen 1 model. However for those that already have Gen 1 it is important to note that both the electrical connector and the ceiling mount are different between the two so it does add extra effort if you plan to swap.

Very good product from what I can tell, although I hope that I never have to find out how it works. It looks great, installs easily, and connects through WiFi to the Nest app on my phone. I own two of these along with the first generation Nest thermostat.

Easy setup. I wish I could use it to speak into the room from another room, that would be a great addition!

I love nest and all of their products. I checked my existing wires alarm system power and cabling and it should have worked for the wired units, but I couldn't figure it out. I called nest and they tried to trouble shoot with me, but again no luck. Best buy let me return these no questions asked and I moved on to the battery version. As long as you get power to there I'm sure the would be just as great as the battery version.

Very easy to install. Really like the LED light that comes on with motion at night. Easy to install and just minutes.

Had trouble with our brand new FirstAlert smoke/carbon units and made the upgrade to the nest. Worth every penny so far. I will never own a different brand of detector.

Love pre-google nest products. Too bad they’ve ruined the brand by not supporting.

This is a great product and very easy to install. The only bummer is that it doesn't interconnect with existing interconnected detectors. The best feature is that you'll receive an alarm on your mobile device if there's an issue at home when you're not there.

Great product when working but randomly signs you out of your account giving you NO control over any of the alarms. I couldn't imagine being away and can't get alerts or see what is going on in my home because I forgot my google password. That is a major flaw that needs to be addressed.
