Good but disappointed with the app

Things got a little smoking when I was using my cast iron pan on the stove and they went off. Went into the app, but it wouldn’t let me silence from there. Had to physically silence it on the device. That was a let down. Otherwise, I do like them and good for peace of mind.

Posted .Hi there, DavidB. Thanks for sharing your experience with the Nest Protect (wired). If the level of smoke or carbon monoxide is low, Nest Protect will alert you using Heads-Up. Nest Protect knows what smoke is, but not what is burning (like toast). If the smoke level rises, Nest Protect will sound a loud, piercing alarm. You can disable Heads-Up for smoke and carbon monoxide from your Nest app or the Web. But for your own safety, Emergency Alarms cannot be disabled since they detect dangerous situations that require you to move quickly to safety.

It offers a slick appearance and seamless integration with my Nest Thermostat. It also packs other little features that I've come to appreciate that I didn't care so much about before. If you are looking for a smoke/CO detector that's smart and looks nicer than your standard options, this is the way to go.
