Turns out these thermostats barely work and don't work without the app to run them and even when using the app programing them makes no sense. I wish I never bought them and the nest pro team is a subcontractor called On Tech, they are formerly cable installers and know nothing about HVAC systems. Sorry I ever purchased the google nest. I have to replace all of them.

I wish I would have spent the money on the more expensive version. Only bought it for looks. Lacks a lot of bells and whistles from the more expensive version. Works and looks good. Not a huge fan of the cover plate though, way too big.

We wanted to make the Google Home app the one place where you can control all your favorite Google Nest devices and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Thermostat:
- Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, when one Nest Protect detects emergency levels of smoke or CO, Protect can tell the Nest Thermostat about emergency alerts and display those alerts.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.
