I have a boiler system, so it is unfortunate it doesn't have the smart logic for it, like the high end ones. Also a pain there isn't a central way to schedule multiple thermostats

I’m a bit of a penny pincher so knowing that this device is able to detect my presence and adjust accordingly brings me comfort. Also I would imagine my carbon footprint is reduced thanks to this device’s presence setting.

Works good with iPhone app. Easy to control from app and physically on the thermostat. The display is bright crisp and clear. Just make sure your home has correct wiring for connecting it.

I have 3 Nest thermostats that are the older versions and everything about this one is significantly cheaper in comparison. I’ve even used the “E” version which was much better than this one. There is no turning dial, the screen is really just a small square and you can see the borders in the display (see photo), and the google home app is far inferior to the Nest app. Even when you adjust the temperature the new sound it makes is irritating. I really hope this isn’t the path that Nest thermostats are heading and that this iteration is just a fluke. I had intended to switch over my mom’s old school thermostats with this one because of a rebate offered by our electric company, but she’s in her 60’s and the lack of a dial would make adjusting the temperature much too difficult. As far as the C wire debate: in my experience the C wire is not needed when your thermostat controls both heating and cooling. In some cases when the thermostat controls ONLY heating or ONLY cooling then a C wire is needed.

Nest programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat

They set it up in my phone and I can control from there. It has started to lose Wi-Fi connection and the Wi-Fi is on in the home. Thats the only problem I have. So the geek squad will come back and show me the way to success like always.

Your Nest thermostat gets its power from your HVAC system’s wiring. There are cases where these wires can't deliver enough power to support the Nest thermostat's features, then they start draining the batteries and disconnect from your Wifi network. In such cases, installing a common(C) wire between your HVAC and Nest thermostats can resolve the battery drain problem.

Good product that I couldn't use

If dont have a "c" wire, it wont work. Got it connected to the thermostat and it worked fine for 5 mins, on the cool setting then switched over to heat. That's when I figured out we were missing a wire. The design is not my favorite. You control the settings my by the small touch buttons on the side. It's kind of a pain in the butt. Other than that, it's sleek and definitely nicer to look at then traditional thermostats.

I love being able to monitor my temperature with my phone, anytime, anywhere. Best Buy was easy to deal with, buy from and the delivery was flawless. Love to have good options to buying from amazon!

This will by default correct to a more appropriate level. I like the fact also that if I’m away from home that I can change it on my cell phone. I need to get more things that can be associate or connected with this like the front door, TV volumes, and other things like that

I still haven't figured out how to work the actual thermostat, but since i can use my phone to change what I need to, I don't ever have to touch it. It's VERY small which i like, it blends in well
