I had a few issues with this thermostat that caused me to return kt. Foest off: Good luck trying to find out which generation this is. I had issues finding a temperature sensor for another room that is compatible, because its not clear what model this unit is. Second off: Installing the unit is fairly straightforward, but the google home app is awful to use. If you set up the unit without wifi you will need to remove it completely from your home app, factory reset the unit, and start from the beginning. In the end: For the price and with the California Smart Thermostat rebate (free $75 coupon) its not the worst product, but for what I’m looking for it just doesnt cut it. This is great if you want a sleek looking thermostat with somewhat reliable smart features

Excellent price, easy to install and very efficient.

So far, it has worked great. Easy to install. Setup can be a little challenging but the instuctions walk you though it well enough. Would like to see an update with a more detail schedule for someone like myself who works strage hours differnt days.

I do not have central air conditioning and as such, did not feel that I needed the more advanced features that the learning Nest model offers. So I purchased this model instead and am very satisfied with it so far. It's extremely intuitive to use and I love being able to not only actually program my heat (I had an old mechanical thermostat before this), but also to be able to control it remotely in case I'm gone for extended period of time. A word of advice for anyone looking to install this themselves, make sure to take full advantage of Google's compatibility checker ahead of time and learn the wiring of your HVAC/current thermostat first. I needed to have a C wire in order to use this product and while this wire was in the wall with the other two wires that my old thermostat used, the C wire wasn't actually connected to anything. I had to connect it to the new thermostat but also find it on the other end and connect it to the terminal on my boiler. If the wire didn't already exist in the wall, I believe I would've needed to run new wiring in order to use this product. The point being, setup was actually pretty easy but required me to have a deeper understanding of the wiring in my house first. The only potential con I would point out is the mirrored surface of the thermostat. If you plan to install this on a wall that gets a lot of lot or is otherwise very visible from other parts of the room, the reflective surface may bother you. Also, make sure to check with your local utility company as they may offer a rebate on this and/or other models! I was able to save an additional ~$30 by submitting for a rebate after purchasing.

This is my second nest. We finally replaced the old Honeywell. This product makes regulating the heat in the home so much easier. We saw a 10% decrease in our heating bill because we were able to regulated the heat better with this device. Highly recommended.

I needed to use an installation expert to install as it needed a little extra wiring. If you are somewhat adept at wiring that would probably not be necessary. I also had difficulty getting it to work on my iPhone. I don't know what the problem was (iPhone or app) but it did resolve itself and works great now. I do recommend this thermostat.

Love this thermostat! The app is a little confusing. It was difficult to add another user. But having the ability to change the temperature with your ohone is wonderful!!

The Google Nest Smart Programmable Wifi Thermostat is a solid option for the price. It’s easy to install, and the sleek Snow finish looks great in any home. However, if you’re planning to install it on a metal box, make sure to get the metal plate, as it’s required for proper installation.

Good design, the batteries should be rechargeable and recharged internally. Otherwise, everything is fine, but perhaps the look of a clock like a screen like the Nest Thermostat is missing.

I am very pleased with this purchase. It works seamlessly with the app and allows us to connect to our local energy company to get reward for energy conservation. Great buy!

Not good, not bad. If you’re on the fence on the $300 Nest or this one. Go with the $300. I had the $300 nest and it gave out after about 2 years, saw this one and thought it would be ok. It was, for the most part. The user interface is not as easy as the original and there is no additional thermostat support. I use to have a thermostat sensor upstairs and at the back of my house, now I have only the thermostat on the wall. Save your time and get the original Nest

Amazing product. I love the fact if im cold in bed i can just reach over to my phone and turn the temperature up!! Be sure if u csn get some help installing it. Ensure its fully hooked up. That was my biggest task.

It took some time to get it set up and synced, but works great once it's done.

I love it. Makes the house look more modern. It was so easy to do install and program.

CHECK to see if your power company gives you one cheaper upfront (I haven't had an account long enough, but they offered rebates later). This piece is beautiful, and saves me walking up and down stairs to change the thermostat (esp helpful at night). Looking forward to getting more insights into the HVAC use than from the power company alone with the old one.

Absolutely love this thermostat. Installation was super easy. Long lasting battery life and product is super easy to use as well as the google home app. The color is so pretty.
