Great inexpensive smart thermostat!

It has all the features of the nest learning thermostat except for schedule learning and a rechargeable battery. I returned this unit to get a nest learning thermostat, due to preference. If you don’t care about schedule learning, this smart thermostat will work for you.

Posted .Hi there, Bret. Thanks for trying out the Nest Thermostat. We understand that having the “learning” feature is ideal for you. However, the Nest Thermostat doesn’t use Auto-Schedule. Instead, you can set a temperature schedule during setup and change it any time you want and the thermostat will still learn Time-To-Temperature. And with a temperature preset, you can easily set a specific temperature that you repeatedly use a bit faster than manually adjusting the temperature dial. Besides using ready-made presets like Comfort, Eco, and Sleep, you can create custom presets. If you want to make changes to the temperature but there’s a hold, the app or thermostat will tell you that you need to end the hold first. Google Nest worked on giving our customers a beautiful, yet affordable and easy-to-install thermostat for households that are interested in a smart thermostat without going over the budget.

Decided not to go with another learning thermostat and went with this one. I am SO happy with this new thermostat! It is a night an day difference when regulating the temperature, and I’m very happy with this purchase.

Kept it for two years and replaced it with a different nest recommended by our ac contractor.

Good smart thermostat

Integrates with Google home and assistant perfectly. The mirror finish takes a little getting used to seeing. I think it would be better with a different finish. Was not as easy to install as they make it look, but it wasn't hard either. I did 2 and both have me the same error code. Overall happy with them. Very insightful info on run time and energy use.

Good feature letting you control it from your phone while being away. Only con i could see is whether or not it continues to work if there is a disruption in your internet service

You can still use the Nest Thermostat to control your system even without Wi-Fi and it will function as a traditional thermostat which you can control manually from the device itself. However, you won't be able to utilize its other features such as remotely controlling the thermostat using the app.

Gives me a piece of mind that when I not at our lake home the temp is holding strong. Also nice to be able to turn the heat up on our way to the lake. I have had zero issues with this unit

It can be controlled from my phone and other devices and even your Amazon devices will control it too. You can schedule anyway you want and will also sense if you are home or away. One thing that was hard to find was that it had a Fan schedule too instead of saying always have the fan running you can say make sure it runs for 30 minutes every hour to recirculate air in your home.

Make sure you do not go with the pre made schedule they set for you in the setup process or it will change the temperature on its own.

Has basic functionality, connects to WiFi and and smart home for routine and remote settings. The low profile and design looks amazing, especially if you can avoid having to use a backing plate to cover a larger existing thermostat cut out. Minus one star because it won't work with Google's remote temperature sensors.

Nonetheless very easy to install if using the Google home app. Can be challenging to use manually without the smartphone
