Doesn't work for all houses

Great customer service as well.

The controls for navigating the settings on the device itself takes a little bit to get used to, so I mainly used the Google Home app for all adjustments.

I’m sure there are other thermostats with more features at a higher price point, but for my small home and basic needs this works great. Interface is simple and user friendly. Thinking of getting my parents one for Christmas. Also if you have a Pg&e account you can claim a $50 rebate, which makes this product a must get.

No "c" wire no power. Must use a pair of rechargeable batteries for power and charge when batteries are getting low. Counter intuitive rotating dial.

We recommend replacing the batteries using only high-quality 1.5 V AAA alkaline batteries from a known manufacturer, so your thermostat can control your system (and you can stay comfortable) while you check the C wire. After you put in fresh batteries, go to “Fix or connect a C wire” for additional troubleshooting help: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9251212
If you repeatedly get low battery messages from your thermostat, or if there’s another power-related message, you may need to check the C wire connection or install a C wire to provide consistent power to your thermostat and prevent the backup batteries from draining. Some systems, including heating-only, cooling-only, zone-controlled, and heat pump systems, require a C wire or the Nest Power Connector. Go to g.co/nest/cwire for details.
Also, although you can control and manage the thermostat settings using the app even when you’re not at home as long as your thermostat and Home app (phone or tablet) are both online, you can use the touch bar on the right side to control your thermostat, you can also swipe up to raise the temperature, swipe down to lower it, and tap to confirm. The display will show you how many minutes until your desired temperature is reached.

It's working well. I had to call a company to install it ("Hello Tech" for $99) I like that i can change the temperature from my phone I also had to buy the Nest plate to put behind as the thermostat is small and did not cover the hole in the wall left after removing the old thermostat

I miss the Nest app. The thermostat itself works great my home is more evenly heated and it’s easy to use one else you learn it. I set up a schedule when ig first installed everything and can no long find where to edit the schedule. Otherwise it’s a nice smart home tool.

Very confused sad I had to return. The upgraded versions that have been released before this are supposed to be compatible.

Great Buy

Pretty easy, but your mileage will vary depending on what wires are back there. Works with Alexa, the app truly makes things easy as can be to install. I can now set my thermostat downstairs anywhere in the house, so when my wife falls asleep I can knock the heat down a couple degrees :). Well worth the money. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend using eco mode when you can. Make sure you have a C-Wire before installing
