First the good - this is a really nice product that is well built and blends in on the wall beautifully. Now the bad - Nest has a feature that shows whether or not your setup is compatible, and it said mine was. However, it turns out I need a third "common" wire for it to be properly powered. It was not working correctly for at least a month then stopped working altogether. If you have a two-wire system (power and heat) you WILL need a common wire or it won't work properly, but they don't tell you that.

This item is a huge upgrade to the old lever and dial which are old fashioned. I like that the display is clear to read even if your standing a pretty good distance away.

i was always interested in a product like this thermostat, but when it came out gen I. Its conects with my ECHO and learns very well about my settings in my home in the hope to keep down my electric bill every month. Brian Holmes

It took us years to decide to purchase a smart thermostat. We are so glad that we did. The Nest learns your schedule and adjust the AC automatically. We have definitely money on our electric bill.

Amazing thermostat. I had a little complication installing it because my HVAC unit had a weird config. But the support was really helpful and guided me through. After that it works perfect and it looks really nice too.

The Nest Thermostat is awesome! I love using my voice to control it. I also love that I can set a schedule for the thermostat to stay at a cost saving level when no one is home so we can save money on our utilities as well!

Doesn’t work great with radiant floor hoping it learns how long it takes to increase temp

Nest makes scheduling and changing temperature so easy. Love using the app to change temperature too. With 2 thermostats, make so much easier than running upstairs and downstairs just to check the temperature.

The only thing missing in it is Siri functionality

Huge improvement over ordinary programable thermostat. Very inexpensive with ComEd rebates. Phone Ap works great. Wife likes invisibility. Remote sensor solved bad thermostat location in my house. Would like to be able to override programing to cool or heat for specified time like you can turn on fan for specified time.

Great thermostat -- it was easy to install myself and I received a $50 rebate from PG&E for updating to this one. Has been a great convenience especially since it remembers your habits.

Love how it has the availability to be controlled via phone and Alexa. The ability to regulate the thermostat when you leave the home or coming back home is a game changer! Can’t beat saving money and living comfortably.

Briefly tried this before replacing it with the regular Nest Thermostat with full-color display. Can't go wrong with either, but I imagine this would appeal more to those with minimalist homes vs. more high-tech laden ones.

We replaced our Cor brand thermostat that came with our house to the Nest and it was a game changer. We are able to control the temperature from our phones and from anywhere in our house.

This model is all you need. I don’t think you need the more expensive model. I have both and I can’t tell why this one is less expensive. Works really well and is good looking.

I love the app interface. No getting up to see what it's set at and can change it from there. All I wanted was a new backlit one. With the energy rebates I got, this ended up being cheaper than a basic one.

I can sum this up in two works - It's wonderful! Absolutely love the product. Easy to install. It has saved me quite a bit of money already and I plan to purchase another one for the upstairs. Buy it!

This Nest is the cleanest thermostat out there. I installed it within 10 minutes and had it connected and running smoothly. Only thing I wish the app was a little better and faster.
