Easy to set up and works as intended, allowing us to prioritize certain rooms. You cannot set exact times in the schedule though as you would normally on the thermostat but you can set morning, afternoon, evening, etc.

Now that we’re stuck at home all day, I needed better control of the temperature based on what rooms and level of the house my family is in throughout the day. We have a 2 story house with a dual zone system with Nests on each floor. With the three pack, upstairs I have the temp set for my office during the day, the thermostat in the evening and my toddler’s room at night. Downstairs is living room thermostat during the day and master bedroom at night. Everyone has been much more comfortable! As with most Nest products, setup was super easy. The only thing I wish they’d add is finer grain control of the timing for the sensors in the app. As it is, you’re stuck with preset periods of time that are good but not exactly aligned with our schedule.

Perfect addition to our nest thermostat. Our bedroom temperature wasn't quite right with a thermostat out in the hallway. It was either too hot or too cold. But adding this into our bedroom and using this sensor to regulate the temperature has made it much more comfortable and efficient. Only works with the nest learning thermostats though.

The Nest temperature sensor was very easy to connect to the Nest thermostat I purchased in 2015. Works great and all the info you need is shown in the Nest app. The thermostat in our house was put in the warmest part of the house so this is a great option to help control the temperature in the colder rooms. It's also easy to move from room to room.

    Nest Sensors work great

I purchased two nest thermostats and really liked the idea of remote sensors. The sensors are electronic thermometers that can be placed at remote locations to both tell the nest the temperature at sites removed from the thermostat and to control the heating and cooling, such that the target temperature needs to be found at the remote location. In our house, the thermostats are located in the hallways and they always seem to over heat and over cool the bedrooms. We can use the sensors in the bedrooms as the target control point for the heating and cooling of the house. They were easy to install and to link to the thermostats. I purchased a sensor with the two thermostats (and then 3 more sensors at a later date). They have been working great. I would purchase again.

I used to be an Ecobee user so I am very familiar with using a sensor. Easy to setup and use. I like being able to tell Nest to turn on depending on if my side of the house is cooler or warmer where the thermostat is. Highly recommend

Tells You the Temperature and Not Much Else

This Nest Temperature Sensor does exactly what it says, and nothing more -- measures the temperature in another room, and allows you to select that room's temperature instead of the temperature measured at the thermostat. It was very easy to setup and install using the Nest app and the included wall hanging screw. It has maintained its connection to my Nest Thermostat E without issue. That's about all the praise I have for this sensor. It does what it says it'll do well. What it doesn't do is pretty frustrating. You cannot set a custom schedule for when your thermostat should use the sensor's temperature; you can only select from four pre-determined time blocks. They are unchangeable and apply to every day of the week. There is no flexibility for weekends or for non-traditional schedules... something even a basic programmable thermostat offers. You also cannot ask your Google Assistant or Alexa devices for the temperature at a sensor: they can only read out the temperature displayed on the thermostat. You also cannot tell the thermostat to balance temperatures across sensors, like you can with Ecobee products. You can only tell Nest to use the thermostat temperature or the temperature at a sensor. It would be nice if the software could average temperatures across sensors so all rooms are relatively comfortable. Finally, the temperature sensor really does only sense temperature -- no motion sensing or humidity sensing (again, something offered by Ecobee). I do enjoy the ability to see how the temperature varies across rooms throughout the day, but it would be nice to see humidity values in other rooms, too. Motion sensing would make up for the inability to set a custom schedule in the Nest software but that would obviously require a hardware change. It is my hope that a future Nest software upgrade will allow for customizable scheduling, making it possible to use your sensor temperatures and thermostat temperatures in a way that fits your lifestyle. Until then, all this sensor can really do is tell you the temperature somewhere else (unless the four predetermined time blocks work for your lifestyle). If that extra knowledge is worth the price to you, you'll find this a well-made and easy to use product. Otherwise, I might wait for Google/Nest to make these more useful before spending your money.

    Perfect to Balance Temperatures

We purchased these sensors to help balance out the temperature in our home. Having one AC zone and two floors, the temperature seems to vary by more than a few degrees throughout the rooms. With these installed, we are able to ensure that each room achieves the temperature we want when we want. It has allowed us to see the temperatures in different rooms, which provides us with the insight needed to adjust the dampers and regulate the temperature throughout the home more evenly. These are worth every bit of the price. Setup takes seconds; just open the Nest app, scan the QR codes on the back of the sensors and place the sensors in the desired rooms.

This product allows your a/c unit to regulate the house temperature based on the placement of this sensor. And you can switch back and forth between this sensor and the Nest thermostat! It’s as easy as making a selection in the Nest App. You can toggle at your will; from sensor to Thermostat and back to sensor. With the Nest app you can schedule the system to use the hall thermostat during the day and the sensor at night. And the installation is quick and easy! All you need is a screwdriver. I love the fact that you can move this sensor from room to room if you desire. What an amazing addition to our home! No more hot nights in our bedroom.

I bought this temperature sensor to help the Nest Learning Thermostat E control the AC temperature. The problem is most thermostats are installed in the hallway and most hallways don't have vents. This means that the temperature in the hallway is almost always going to be warmer than a bedroom, office, etc. The problem that we had was in the bedrooms it would be hot, so I'd set the thermostat to 74 degrees which read its temp from the hallway, so the bedrooms which are smaller and all have AC vents would get freezing cold. THE SOLUTION This Temperature sensor. I bought one an placed it one of the bedrooms. Now the temperature is being read from the bedroom, and to my amazement, the bedrooms read up to 4 degrees cooler. Now when I set the temp it reads from the smaller rooms, now the temperature in all the bedrooms and the office are pleasant. The only rooms that require the temp to be tweaked is our large living room. That's a simple fix though I can lower the temperature using my phone, Amazon echo or my smartwatch when were in the living room. Install could not have been simpler, open the box, take out the sensor, pull the plastic tab that connects the battery, open the nest app it finds the sensor. THAT'S IT. Well worth the money in power savings and comfort.

Use this in our main bedroom to get a more accurate temp, as where the thermostat is currently is normally warmer. Extremely easy to sync with Nest Smart Thermostat, but you can only get the Thermostat to use one sensor at a time.

I purchased the temperature sensor when I decided to install a Nest Thermostat E for my home. It was really easy to connect to the Nest app and does its job very well reporting the temperature of my upstairs rooms away from the thermostat. My main problem with this is the cost, $40 is really expensive for a temperature sensor and I really hope I don't run into any issues since the warranty isn't all that long. I'm thinking I wouldn't buy this again now that I have a baseline for the temperatures throughout my house and I am able to just set my downstairs thermostat to turn on at a specific temperature that would get my other rooms to the temperature I desire.

The Nest temperature sensors work well. It keeps the house cool at whatever temperature you decide. One reminder that these are temperature sensors not motion sensors. You can set the Nest Thermostat for 76 degrees, the master bedroom at 74 and the second or third bedrooms at 77 and then select the sensor at the temperature you want. The sensors are easy to set up thru WiFi. I will recommend this.

Relatively simple setup. Does it's job monitoring the room i set it down in. Issue with this is I had to replace the first one i bought because it would occasionally just lose connection with the base thermostat, and nothing I do would bring it back online for potentially days when it seemingly randomly decides to work again. I've tried replacing the battery, moving it to a closer room, deleting the device and adding it back to the home... Nothing worked and it would just be a paperweight for who knows how long.

I bought the Nest sensors so I could monitor the difference in the upstairs nursery and guest bedroom vs the downstairs bedrooms. I quickly learned that the upstairs rooms are 5 to 7 degrees warmer. Duh, warm air rises. Now I can target the thermostat to keep the grand baby’s room at a more comfortable temp. The sensors were easy to install and a good value. I’m totally happy with this purchase.

Our smart thermostat is wired at the warmest spot of the apartment so the heater never kicks on when we need it, this little device fixed that issue for us. Super easy set up, probably will buy more if we move to a bigger space. Highly recommended

These are incredible. We have a nest thermostat, but have window and wall air conditioners, not central air. It's really enlightening to see how well the AC is working or not. I have two older dogs with heart issues and I want to keep it cool where they are. This allows me to monitor that they are at a comfortable temperature. Recently, it was 80 inside and not really bothering me, but I can see how it would be uncomfortable for my aging pets, so I increased the air. =

We love our Nest thermostat, so we decided to expand its possibilities with the sensor. We are able to switch from the thermostat working to regulate the temperature in the main living area to our bedroom on the second floor prior to going to bed for the night. You can do this anytime you want, or, like us, have Nest switch automatically according to our schedule, both at night and in the morning. No more cold bedroom! It really is one of those things that you don’t know what you’re missing until you try it. It was nothing to set up too.

We had installed the Nest thermostat when we bought our first house about three years ago and just recently bought the temperature sensors as we've been spending more time at home during 2020. They work great and are well worth the money to be able to adjust based on what room we are likely to be in at different times or what room we are in at the time. Recently bought three more so we could have one in every room in the house. Very happy with how they are performing and easy to set up.
