Has ECO setting. Do not know if that helps yet, have not run it long enough!

Later bought this thermostat for my mom. Simple and seamless install. Works great for her system.

There are newer models out, but this is a good deal for the price when it is on sale. Check the features list vs newer models, this may bee all you need. I use it for scheduled temperature control based on time of day and day of the week. (This model does not have the learning feature, which is fine) It has helped reduce my power usage. Do pay attention to setup instructions and take note if you are using a heat pump, the setup is slightly different.

Nice to be able to control from outside the house while cleaning HVAC (disconnect pulled). Saves on electric bill

Bought new HVAC wire since my old thermostat only req'd a red and white (YES you need C wire or transformer if you only have a R and W!). Was having my furnace constantly turning on and off. Eventually purchased a transformer from Amazon to power the Nest. Having a hard time connecting it to Wifi, but it does what I need and is much more aesthetically pleasing than my previous clunky thermostat.

Posted .Hi mariahp, thanks for sharing a review about the Nest Thermostat. We can imagine how hard you tried to make it work, and we appreciate all your efforts. However, it’s unfortunate to learn that you’re having a hard time connecting it to Wi-Fi.
Connectivity issues can be caused by different factors like location and distance of Nest device, Wi-Fi router, outdated phone and Nest app. This may also be caused by Wi-Fi network congestion, and Wi-Fi interference with other devices and/or networks. Removing other devices from your Wi-Fi might help.You can also try setting up your Nest Thermostat on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more reliable.

The batteries it came with were already dead and only realized after finishing install which kind of sucked but it was very easy to just remove the face plate and change them out.

Worth the extra few bucks.....

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After initially getting a cheaper brand that turned out to be a complete nightmare to set up and was nowhere near as intuitive, I brought back the other brand and bought two of these Nest Thermostats (one for upstairs one down). The Nest was really easy to set up and does support no C wire without having to rig anything in your furnace panel wiring. One it was connected to WIFI it set up in a matter of minutes with no issues. It did take a little learning to figure best way to set up for how you best want the thermostat to work during certain times of the day but think I have that sorted and while on vacation I am able to adjust themp up on my phone while turning down prior to our return. Does what it says at a great price.
