I had to set it up in Google Home but The nest sensor would not set up in the Google home app. It said to put it in the Nest app. I even had the geek squad here and they said there was an update error with nest!! and no customer service!! I will never buy another nest product.

This caused the AC compressor to run continuously without also turning on the fan. Consequently the AC compressor and cooling coils froze completely and had to be repaired. This also caused a spike in energy usage which significantly raised our electric bill. Replaced with a better unit after only 1 week. Flashy design with laughably poor quality.

When hooked up and having the Google power connected it only allowed the furnace to blow cold/room temperature air. Google support was terrible. Swapped out to old thermostat and everything worked as it should. Nest has really gone down hill in quality, I will never buy again.

Your Nest Thermostat gets power from the wires of your heating and cooling system. If your Nest Thermostat no longer turns on, and if you still have your old standard thermostat, we recommend uninstalling Nest Thermostat and try connecting your old thermostat to see if you will get any power from your system to activate your older thermostat. If your old thermostat doesn't turn on, we suggest contacting your preferred HVAC technician to check your system. When you manually adjust the temperature, the temperature will stick until the next scheduled temperature change. With a temperature preset, you can easily set a specific temperature that you repeatedly use a bit faster than manually adjusting the temperature dial. Besides using ready-made presets like Comfort, Eco, and Sleep, you can create custom presets. This is helpful for other times you might like a specific temperature that’s not included in your thermostat’s existing presets. If you want to set your thermostat on temperature hold to maintain specific temperature for as long as you want, please see the steps below:
- In the Menu view, select Hold temperature.
- Select Current temp or Eco.
- Choose a time. You can scroll up and down to edit the time by half-hour blocks.
If you’re using the Eco preset, you can also choose None to hold the temperature indefinitely until you end the hold. For other presets, your thermostat can hold the temperature for up to 24 hours.
- Select Confirm.
If you want to make changes to the temperature but there’s a hold, the app or thermostat will tell you that you need to end the hold first.

Looks good but can't hold temperature.
