    I got this as a house warming gift for my mother in law. It has stopped working after 2 months. Thankfully it didn't stop on the cold days we were recently having. Actually installing it wasn't that hard but to set it up with the apps were a bit annoying.

    Cost cutting move by Nest

    Not very good, the touch (I think it's a cost reduction move), really does not work. It's much cheaper than my unit in terms of construction and design. It lost too many features from the old unit, so I gave it away.

    Never change your router password

    1 Star due to the difficulty in setting up after simply changing my router password. There is no way to just change the password. You have to factory reset, and start all over again. This goes for EVERY Google product, their smart displays, speakers, smoke detectors. It's ludicrous.

    Immediate Unit Failure

    1 week after installation, the yellow wire relay failed in the Nest unit. This caused the AC compressor to run continuously without also turning on the fan. Consequently the AC compressor and cooling coils froze completely and had to be repaired. This also caused a spike in energy usage which significantly raised our electric bill. Replaced with a better unit after only 1 week. Flashy design with laughably poor quality.

    Dont buy this thermostat/ no nest support

    I had to buy this new third generation thermostat so I could use a nest sensor to go with my new furnace and HVAC system. I had to set it up in Google Home but The nest sensor would not set up in the Google home app. It said to put it in the Nest app. I even had the geek squad here and they said there was an update error with nest!! and no customer service!! I will never buy another nest product.

    Started off good but then 3 months in it started going offline on its own. Had to restart thermostat a couple of times and would not show correct temp. Not worth the purchase.

    is not good before 9 months of use, he show on screen low battery, and i put new battery and keep showthe sem message and know is off complete.

      Your Nest Thermostat gets power from the wires of your heating and cooling system. If your Nest Thermostat no longer turns on, and if you still have your old standard thermostat, we recommend uninstalling Nest Thermostat and try connecting your old thermostat to see if you will get any power from your system to activate your older thermostat. If your old thermostat doesn't turn on, we suggest contacting your preferred HVAC technician to check your system.     Complete garbage. When hooked up and having the Google power connected it only allowed the furnace to blow cold/room temperature air. Google support was terrible. Swapped out to old thermostat and everything worked as it should. Nest has really gone down hill in quality, I will never buy again.

    Google nest may be good for some homes, but for ours is was not compatible with the our AC wires. Too many faulty errors for me to recommend.

    Tried 2 of them, both blew a fuse in our heater. Thought it was faulty first one, but nope. Returned both and went back to original T-stat.
