Best Pixel Yet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Obviously Google has outdone themselves again with a top notch Camera and Photo software! I love the auto focus, now all my pics are great. Macros could never be better than with this current Pixel Pro. Skin tones are captured better, especially in low light conditions. "Amazing Results" Cameras have been upgraded to include 50MP using new Pro control software. Just like using a professional camera. If you don't like one of you pics, then just select best take and AI will suggest which of your pics is the best. Need to put a smile on someone or remove an unwanted object? No problem with Magic Editor. Clear up your blurred Photos. Super Resolution Zoom up to 30x with Pixel Pro. You won't be disappointed. The Phone sets up with ease and transferring from another device could not be easier. You will get Android 14 and ( 7 ) years for OS updates. (incredible) No one else offers this!! The lock screen includes more customizations along with new Monochrome Themes. AI Wallpaper to give you more creativity. Call Screen will sound more natural and can have a conversation with caller when screening your calls. Features include "Call Assist" "Google Assistant" "Assistant Voice Type" and "Live Translate" Security is stepped up to include Face Unlock for phone and apps. Built in Google One VPN, you just need to turn it on. Proactive Security antimalware protection. Emergency Help always ready. Download Magnifier to make tiny text easily visible. Object Temp Sensor to check beverages, food etc...Not for humans yet though. Included FitBit app has easy navagation format. and of course plenty of Google Phone accessories. All this is Great, However, the best part for me is the Speed of the phone with the new Titan M2 Tensor G3 chip is robust with security and performance! I could go on and on and on. You will Just have to get one for yourself. You won't be disappointed. Even if you are a long time user of other brands, this could easiy win you over.

Major improvements with some minor issues.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Google Pixel 8 Pro features some pretty major improvements over the Pixel 7 but still manages to have some minor issues that are kind of annoying considering its price point. The design of the phone itself is greatly improved, gone are the curved edges of the screen (who decided those were a good idea?), but their is still a fairly significant amount of screen space being eaten up by the bezel of the screen. My biggest issue with the Pixel 8 Pro is the aluminum edge and the brushed glass back, they both end up being very slick feeling and makes it almost a necessity to have some kind of case on this phone before it goes flying out of your hands. As someone who prefers to use only a screen protector on my phone this is extremely disappointing as I am constantly worried about dropping the phone, it also doesn't help that the camera bar gets easily snagged on your pocket when putting it in or taking it out of your pocket, paired with the slick feeling sides and back this snag is a recipe for disaster. Other than that issue, the phone is a definite improvement over the Pixel 7, with even more improvements in software and hardware the Pixel 8 Pro is a better phone all around than the 7. Google has added even more AI features that work onboard the phone and with the better hardware they work great. The Pixel 8 Pro does everything better than the 7 and has made some really good changes that were much needed; rounded screen why?, but there is definitely still room for improvement.

Finally Google
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to work at a phone store and I had the chance to try multiple devices for a long period of time. The pixel 7 pro was a horrible phone and I switched to the s23 Ultra which was one of the only phones that I have used that is almost flawless and that stylus was a bonus. Eventually I switched to the iPhone 14 PM and hated that phone. Not sure what the hype around the iPhone is but the only two things that I liked about the iPhone were the battery life and the Face ID. Cameras are so bad and the operating system is too limited. After the iPhone I finally switched to the Pixel 8 pro. I had my doubts since the pixel 7 pro sucked but boy I was wrong. They have fixed most of the issues like the screen brightness, battery, overheating and speed. They are currently pushing an update to fix battery life as well but honestly it's already decent and takes a week for the software to adjust to your use. Cameras have always been excellent. That smooth software is what makes me choose it over the Samsung. Good job Google on finally giving us a good Pixel. Also very light compared to most flagship phones. Highly recommended from a guy who has used multiple flagship phones. Face ID does not work in the dark but the fingerprint scanner makes up for that and it works very well. Now for only 800$ that's just a crazy deal! I got my phone from the Google store but decided to share my review here for people to see.

iPhone 15 Pro Max? Nah Pixel 8 Pro is better!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone feels like Google finally got it right. It's fast, it's helpful, it's easy to setup and operate, the camera is beautiful etc. But the most important thing is that Google is promising 7 YEARS of feature drops and security updates for this phone!!! Which means you will DEFINITELY get your money's worth. All in all, 10/10

The "AI" Champion
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received my unlocked Pixel 8 Pro this week and I have not been disappointed. It’s always worrisome to me setting up a new phone for the first time and transferring all my data and phone number, especially when I’m doing it by myself. I needn’t have worried. EVERYTHING transferred perfectly from my old Pixel without even connecting a cable. Following the easy instructions, the new phone received all my information, including wi-fi credentials from my old phone. It then transferred my carrier account and phone number, I didn’t even have to remove the SIM card from my old phone. Literally in five minutes I was ready to go, and I just watched as each of my apps transferred perfectly to my new Pixel 8 Pro. The only thing which did not transfer was my username and password to each website. That was a minor inconvenience. The phone did the ‘heavy lifting’ all by itself. Now, getting to the phone itself. By far the biggest new feature of this Pixel are all of its “AI” capabilities. With the camera, the Magic Eraser is smarter than ever but now there’s an AUDIO Magic Eraser, so that if your videos have irritating and distractive background noise, the AI will reduce or eliminate it. There’s also a new “Magic Editor” which can actually move the subject of your photo around the background and do other tricks with your photos. It was pretty amazing. The telephoto capability of the phone is very useful, even if you don’t want to take a picture. For instance, if you want to read a sign in the distance you can’t make out, the camera will bring it up close to you. In the opposite direction the macro feature is unbelievable this year. I had my phone less than an INCH from a subject and it was sharp and clear. Also back this year is the photo “unblur” and “night sight” and astrophotography. Get yourself a tripod or prop up the camera, and it will be as if you’re at the planetarium. Another AI feature is the ‘summarize’ capability. You can open a web page and ask the phone to summarize what’s on the page and it DOES in its own words. I can’t imagine being too lazy to just read the article for myself, but the feature is THERE if you want it. The phone will also take a web page written in a foreign language and translate it for you, both in text and voice. A few features offered I didn’t have a chance to try. Getting back to AI, if you have it set up, the phone will screen your calls, even ask QUESTIONS to the callers before it rings the phone. Oh, and I almost forgot the temperature sensor. You can take the temperature of an object by scanning it, such as liquid temperature, a cooking pan etc. And no, you can’t take a PERSON’s temperature with it yet, but when approval comes from the U.S. Food and Drug administration, Google says it will turn it on. This year Google is offering a industry leading SEVEN YEARS of security support and OS upgrades. So for seven years, if there’s a new version of Android, you’ve got it free. I don’t think Apple is going to match that. OK, here’s my thought as to whether it’s worth upgrading to the Pixel 8 Pro. Especially if you’ve got a Pixel 7 Pro and are happy with it, if you don’t think you’ll use any of the AI and new camera features, you’re probably fine with the one you have. The new screen is supposed to be brighter, but it wasn’t noticeable to me. I suppose if I turned the brightness all the way up, there would be a difference. The battery is supposed to be longer lasting too, but I never really had a problem with my old Pixel’s battery. But if you think you’ll have fun playing with all the new AI features the new phone has, and I’m sure I missed a few of the new ones, then upgrade away.

Another great Pixel phone
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think I've had every Pixel phone since they came out. While I've read stories or comments about issues people have had with some of them I have never really had any issues. I've always liked the plain Android software without all of the manufacturers' UI's and apps they add. They're very similar to iPhones in that you always know what you're getting and you are familiar with one Pixel phone you'll be familiar with any other one, including new ones. And they just keep getting better. The biggest changes Google tends to make with each version tend to come in the form of software updates (each new one usually launches with the latest version of Android before other phones get it), and the camera. And honestly the camera I think is what's made the Pixel line of phones so popular for Google. They take amazing pictures and video and the editing tools for photos are pretty amazing too. And Google continues to push the limits with their software, especially on the camera side of things. Not only do they have magic erase to remove objects from photos but they now have a similar function for audio on videos to remove or lower unwanted background noises so you can hear what you want to hear. You can also take several photos of a group and then pick the best version of each person out of the different photos (maybe someone blinked in one or didn't smile) and then it will stitch together those faces onto the same photo and it looks like the picture was taken that way with everyone having the perfect expression. You can take some pretty amazing low light and night photos as well as astro photography pictures. Some of these have been around a while but they have improved over the years with both software updates as well as better cameras and sensors. Then there's the other software features like live transcribe which will transcribe speech if you can't hear well or there's noise around. And live translate which will translate text, audio, or even live speech from one language to another. Not sure what language is being spoken? It can determine that and then translate it. You also have Google lens with will do all kinds of things from allowing you to copy text from a photo same as you would from anywhere else for copy/paste functionality, to searching the internet for similar items to what's in the picture. I think it's also pretty well known by now that Google's Assistant is superior to all the others out there. Some of these things are new to the Pixel 8 and maybe even only the Pixel 8 Pro. Some may or may not be added in software updates to previous Pixel phones. I don't know so I can't speak to that. So if you have a Pixel currently should you upgrade? It depends. If you have a 7 or even a 6, you honestly probably aren't going to notice much difference (unless you have issues with your current phone. Obviously with upgrading your getting better hardware and better software that you may or may not get on your current Pixel. But really since about the Pixel 5 or 6, it's getting hard to justify upgrading if you don't have a good reason to. The phones have just gotten so good and so we'll made that it's going to be hard to innovate much beyond the software side of things. But that's a good thing. It just shows how far the hardware has improved lately. I have had a few small issues/annoyances (auto brightness seems to reduce the brightness a little more than I'd like), but nothing that can't be fixed with an update, which you'll get almost monthly with fixes, features, etc.

Best Pixel Yet!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So lets dive in! Before this phone, I had the S23+ and prior to that the Pixel 6 Pro. And the pixel 8Pro is my favorite so far!! It would be hard to detect the difference from the Pixel 6 from outward appearance. I think mostly the camera config. But both have that band of lenses. Where the pixel shines is its software, and how it operates. I was already familiar with its controls so it was intuitive. The pixel has a ton of features that are even better than the 6. The camera is unreal. I'm not a bit picture taker but I do love the tools. The camera is SO much better and it was really good then. I love magic eraser - allows me to remove objects and people from my pictures. Zoom is out of control! It is so powerful going to MACRO level in short distances of less than 12cm. The full 50megapixel and pro controls for extensive camera control - well beyond my ability. with 2 kids getting a smile from each at the same time is impossible - but best take solved that! love this one! I really love the face unlock which works well - only took about 20seconds to setup and it illuminates the front camera upon acknowledgement and just swipe up to unlock. Works in low light pretty well too. The phone has a temperature sensor as well. This is new and honestly I'm not really sure what its for. I can only guess is the idea of forehead temp readings we did during covid? LOL I only have 1 "complaint" is that the body is super smooth and curved edges. Makes holding it a bit slippery! Highly suggest a case

iPhone Samsung I've tried them Pixel 8 Pro for me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been an Apple user for 20+ years and I also own a S23 Ultra and this new Pixel 8 Pro is my favorite! The simplicity of use, design, camera, and integration into the Google applications which I use for everything make this phone a game changer. I like my S23 Ultra for work with the S pen but the flat screen on the Pixel is superior IMO. Every day I learn new things that it can do that other phones can't and I'm impressed!
