I thought a Chromebook would be nice to have to compliment the pixel phone. So I bought the pixel Chromebook and I'm not disappointed. Operates like the phone, very fast, decent battery life, and syncs with my phone and all the apps. I thought the price was a little steep but a got it on sale for 750.

The Pixelbook is my first experience with Chrome OS and suffice to say, I was impressed. First, the hardware. The Pixelbook is an ultra-portable - aluminum unibody, Intel Core i5, 8GB of memory and 128GB SSD. I honestly think the packaging is heavier than the device. The overall feel of the device is solid. The keyboard is solid, nice short firm strokes. The display is clear - with great color and clarity. The Pixelbook can be used as a laptop, tablet or convertible giving lots of options depending on how you want to use it. My wife and I took it on vacation and watched movies on the plane sitting it on the tray table. I generally use it as a laptop. When it's folded closed as a tablet, the keyboard is disabled as you'd expect. Chrome OS is a version of Android OS optimized for laptops. Personally, I find it much easier to use. It looks and feels a lot like the Chrome browser. It's extremely responsive and has the Google Play Store for all your application needs. I was pleased with the stability and intuitiveness of the menus. At the end of the day, I've found myself reaching for the Pixelbook and leaving my MacBook sitting on the counter. It has a great feel and the weight is great to toss in a bag and almost forget you're carrying it around.

Oh yes, there are Android applications available, but even those are limited by Google Safe reviews. In fairness, if you work for Google or participate in a collaborative workplace group, this device will contribute to productivity. Otherwise, you will look with envy at the persons with a Mac or a PC sitting next to you.
