It's a very good Chromebook
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Trying to move away from Windows and decided to go with one of the best Chromebooks available. There are two more Pixelbooks in this line, but I opted for the more "affordable" version. Excellent build quilty; thin & lightweight; multiple modes for handling and viewing. If you're used to only working with Windows or Macs, there's a little bit of a learning curve as Chrome OS has its own shortcut keys (and keyboard); but you can access the commands via the Help option and you can find plenty of support (FAQs, threads, videos, etc...) online for the device. And if you're into Linux, this is also supported on the Pixelbooks. My only negatives about the Pixelbook (other than the price) would be the speakers (which aren't loud at all) and the bezels around the screen.

The Pinnacle of Excellence in Chromebooks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautifully designed on the inside and the outside. A perfect mixture of textures and components of glass rubber and so much Google goodness. With the hardware perfectly matched up to the software I have a machine that I have yet to have an issue with. I am not just an average user I am a heavy consumer and am on my computer all day. Done properly this computer was able to take the place of my laptop my work computer and my home computer with ease. It's capable of everything my other computers were sometimes requiring a small work around but it's no different than having to install or find drivers or workarounds in the other available options. They ask best paying around $800 to $1000 for just a phone so paying that much for a top-of-the-line computer, that's right I said computer not just Chromebooks, is more than worth it. You'll of course run into the haters that say "I can't pay that much for a device that is limited" it's only limited by the user and its users limitations. I've been able to successfully edit videos photos the heavy lifting that everyone says so if you're a heavy lifter a heavy user this isn't your device well they're wrong. I have no problem paying$1,000 for something that is the top of the line and has the cleanest most simple operating system available. People get hung up on that, don't. Purchase this computer and before long you'll be wondering how you ever got along without it simplicity. I would recommend this to anyone and I have. And instead of having to update my computer in a year or two this thing is built so very well and designed to grow an update its operating system as new technology emerges. Very happy with my purchase.

Even after positive reviews for the pixel book
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With positive reviews on the Pixel book the price was hard to get past , however I continue to be impressed and satisfied with my purchase. Probably still one of the best looking chrome books around and of course very user friendly. #teampixel

Top of the line Chromebook!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm beyond happy that I spent the extra money and purchased the Google Pixelbook Chromebook, I originally bought a Samsung Chromebook Plus and I wasn't impressed! It was just ok but I wanted something to wow me and justify spending the $ that the new higher end Chromebooks cost and this Google Pixelbook fits the bill!!! No joke! If you're in the market for a new laptop definitely spend the extra $ and grab a Google Pixelbook Chromebook I guarantee you will thank me, this is the best Chromebook laptop on the market period.

Flawless for some, including me
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This beautifully- designed laptop would have to be described as a niche product, but what a beautiful niche it fills! The brushed aluminum and white glass finish is gorgeous. And the rubberized palm rests, lighted keyboard with responsive key travel, make the Pixelbook a joy to operate. The hinge system allows the screen to be folded into a “tent” or all the way over, emulating a tablet. Chromebooks have already progressed to the point that for my needs, there are few, if any, tasks that I regularly perform which the Pixelbook cannot handle with aplomb. Use Outlook for mail? You are covered. Want to use Word, Excel, or any other Microsoft product? All their Android apps work nicely on a Chromebook. In fact, I feel comfortable using the Pixelbook on the road. It serves all the needs of a typical business user. And it is incredibly fast with a seventh generation Intel core i5 processor and 128GB of RAM to totally satisfy any of my onboard storage needs. There is a headphone jack for those who need one, but I have greatly enjoyed listening to music over my Bluetooth headphones. The Napster android app works beautifully and flawlessly. Streaming Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu is a pleasure. The screen is beautiful, and it is a touchscreen. I have not used a touchscreen device in a while, and have enjoyed the availability of that feature. A stylus is available, but I have not purchased one yet. Google Assistant works flawlessly with this laptop. “Ok Google” summons the service by default, or a dedicated key can be pressed to bring it up. As I am quite accustomed to that service through my Pixel Phone, I greatly enjoy that convenient feature. If a Wi-Fi connection is not available, the Pixelbook will automatically use my Pixel 2 as a wi-fi hotspot. As I type this, I have not had a chance to fully check out that feature. Yes, there are things you can’t do with this device, like video editing, but the person who would be purchasing the Pixelbook will have evaluated their needs and have decided whether this device would fit their needs. It fits my needs nicely. It is stunningly beautiful, designed like a tank, and it just works. I’ll keep it!

Almost Perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google's Pixelbook is an amazing machine. In fact, it makes other Chromebooks look like toys, by comparison. It's gorgeous to behold. I thought I was gonna miss the extra 3 inches of other Chromebooks, but no. This thing feels great. It's sleek and feel very premium. It's designed with the same form factor of the Pixel smartphones, so that's a love it or hate thing. ( I'm on the love it side, if you haven't noticed). Now to the meat and potatoes of this dish. You've got a 12.3 in" fully folding touch screen to play with. A 128 GB SSD embedded within. 8 GB of RAM and 7th Gen Intel Core i5 processor. It's also running Google Eve.( You should , uh,Google that.) I've used other Chromebooks, but this one seems to just make things feel more right than the others. You can now use Microsoft apps on this iteration of Chromebook. It is definitely a Flagship device. The OS runs silky smooth and, from my time with it, lag free. In laptop mode, it feels satisfying and in tablet mode it does what the tablet does. If you've ever used a Chromebook, you pretty much know what to expect. Just expect that your experience will be much better here. Let's talk about that assistant though. Mmm, right outta the box, you've got that Google Assistant awaiting your 1st voice command. C'mon Now!! Really? That's just sick...In a very good way. Again, I didn't think I was gonna much care for this system, But I was pleasantly surprised. It's got Bluetooth connectivity and a headphone jack, so, yeah. That's awesome. With the Headphone jack going by the way of the Dodo lately. A full track pad and a full sized keyboard makes this boy happy. Just sayin'. There are 2 USB type C ports, one on either side, for charging comfortably. That sound quality is just...sigh*.( Really though, where is that sound coming from?) I love it though. It's 2 lbs of pure joy. Okay, now for the grimy liver you'll wanna slide under the table , to the dog. Buckle up. All I can say is you're about to spend $1000. Deal with it and love every bit of it. Next, I do miss the USB ports for charging that Bluetooth or phone or maybe even that printer ( It does have cloud printing.) I could benefit from those USB ports. There's no expandable memory, so you'll get what you get. And finally, there's a Pixel Pen (not included) available for the cost of $100. You decide if you need it.( I personally may order one later on) I just wished it came in the box. And that's really all I have on the dark side of this thing. There's still so much I have yet to find in this beauty. But Really Though...WHERE IS THAT BEAUTIFUL SOUND COMING FROM?? Basically, if you're considering this purchase, go for it. Get it and love it.

Great all around laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initial impressions of this laptop are pretty nice. What might throw off some consumers is the fact this is Chrome OS and not Mac or Windows. There is a small learning curve when using ChromeOS compared to other operating systems however it's nothing to get bent out of shape over. It's basically a larger version of the Pixel phone from Google and, at time, a trimmed down version of an OS compared to other ones. That said, I think this is great laptop either as a secondary/traveling/work laptop or as a normal laptop for light duty users. The appearance of the laptop is quite chic. It's metal and glass giving it a very minimalist look while offering a pretty sturdy frame. It's a 12 inch laptop so, for me, it took a little while getting used to since I prefer more larger sized laptops. Nonetheless, the fit/finish on this laptop is comparable to any high end laptop out on the market now. My only issue with this is that it's not all that easy to lift the screen up. The functionality this laptop provides, again, is comparable to anything out on the market. While the specs on this laptop might not be as alluring as others, it will easily churn through any task with ease. Since everything on this laptop is cloud based, really boils down to how fast your connection is. But I haven't experienced any hiccups with this so far and don't really expect to honestly. The one thing some people might miss are the ports. There aren't any on this laptop save for a power plug and a spare USB-C port. You're not able to hook up any HDMI or monitor to this just to be clear. This laptop is pretty much an all-in-one sort of machine. Battery life seems pretty good. I haven't burned through a battery cycle yet however I figure this should give you, at least, a good 6-7 hours (maybe more) of use. As far as the touchscreen/flip out screen, it's nice but not something I personally use all that much. In cases where I'm watching a movie or streaming something, I'll put it tent mode but that's about it. The touchscreen is quite good so no noticeable lag or anything. In tablet mode, this pretty much just becomes a 12 inch phone for the most part. Overall, I think it's a great laptop for most general uses. It's not a workhorse laptop or a gaming laptop by any means but, for most uses, I think this is great in terms of functionality, size and performance. There is a small learning curve needed with this if you're not familiar with ChromeOS but it's not a big deal IMO.

Q: QuestionWhy bother with the I7, when every review has the I5 running Chromium "ridiculously fast"? Ditto for RAM: Running small footprint apps instead of fully-fledged software begs the question, "What app needs 16GB?" The SSD upgrade I-get, but not for $700
Asked by Ravenwood.
- A:Answer You are ABSOLUTELY correct in your assessment. The only reason you would want to go to the i7 or 16GB is if you want to run Windows10 or Linux. As a Chromebook, the base model at $999 is OVERKILL for ChromeOS.

Q: QuestionDoes this have retina display
Asked by Jack.
- A:Answer "Retina Display" is just an Apple marketing term. But the 12" macbook "retina" displays have 226 pixels per inch while the Pixelbook has 235 pixels per inch. Pixelbook has the slightest edge but essentially they're identical.

Q: QuestionHow much does is the display quality for the google pixelbook
Asked by Lexi.
- A:Answer I would say it is somewhere around a macbook pro in quality. Superior to an air or surface laptop, but not quite as good as an iPad Pro. It is a glass panel so it is reflective like the former examples.
