Difficult in getting the best placement. Takes trial and error over a few months to get it right. I do like that you can just get more to add to your group.

I bought this because the modem and router provided by my cable company became unreliable, slow and temperamental. I purchased 3 extenders to remedy the situation which proved to be short lived remedies. A friend suggested the google WiFi mesh system along with a new modem. I purchased- the arris surfboard and it’s been a terrific fit. Worth the money especially since I’m on the computer all day. I'm a happy customer.

I have a small ~1000 sq ft condo so it should have been more than capable of covering my place. It was very easy to set up with my google account, but after that it was nothing but trouble. My devices were constantly disconnecting and the speeds when they were connected were atrocious. I tinkered with it for a while to try and dial it in but couldn't improve the performance so I gave up on it (especially since the idea behind this router was to be super easy set up). I went back to my internet provider's router and it's working much better.

For the best experience with Google Wifi, we suggest checking if you're using a modem/router combo. If you are, we recommend setting it up in bridge mode and disabling its Wi-Fi functionality. This will avoid any network issues caused by both your combo and Google Wifi Router, broadcasting the same SSID and password. You may then connect your Google Wifi Router to your modem using an Ethernet cable, and then connect your Google Wifi Points.
We recommend the following steps to ensure great coverage for your Google Wifi devices:
- Line of sight: Points perform better when they can find each other. Repositioning the points to avoid obstructions like walls, doors, and aquariums can improve performance.
- Placement: Place the devices somewhere off the ground, such as on a shelf, can greatly improve coverage.
- Consider the overall mesh network: Points depend on each other to provide great coverage in your home. In order to fix a particular weak point, you may need to move a different Wi-Fi point in order to fix it.
