google mesh (hockey puck)
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.dont buy it. i own 4 sets of these. they used to run really good. seems like google isnt keeping up with the software. they run half the provided speed over wifi. if you contact customer support they act like they dont know whats going on, and waist your time with basic questions. its the same problem at every property i have, 4 total. i have speed tested my provider. wired over cat 5 on a home pc that was directly conected and the provider speeds where fine. also mesh hard wired speeds where fine.

DOES NOT WORK WELL
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as a present because my original router wasn't great. I thought with the mesh router and WiFi points, the internet in my house would be better. However, I've had it for less than a month and every couple of hours the internet just decides to stop working and the color on my router turns red. I've called my IPS and they said there were no internet outages near my area. I would love to exchange it or return it for a better router but it says I can only return/exchange if it's within 14-15 days depending on the item. I feel like at the specific one I have is a factory defect but I'm left with no options.

Meh at best
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Required an old iPad to set-up / install because new iPhone wouldn’t work. Signal range has improved over previous WiFi/ router but connection and signal fidelity is glitchy even to devices where the signal is strong. I really wish we had more than 2 weeks to figure this out before we return for a different product. It took 4 days to get the ISP to come to the house to check their part. (You know, everybody blames the other company).

Improvement Over Traditional Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system, definite improvement, but puzzling signal loss. First of all, setup is a complete breeze. As long as you have an existing modem, whether personal or supplied by cable provider, you simply follow the steps on the google home app to configure the initial node, followed by plugging in the other two nodes throughout the house. There is a three minute video on youtube called "how to install and set up google wifi" that makes setup even easier. All told, it took about 10 minutes to get all three nodes set up. In our new house, the only cable outlet that works in in the far corner of our 1900 sq ft home. Our 100mbps internet plan left us with speeds around 5-10mbps in the living room, with buffering common on our smart TV. With there only being 2 of us in the house, 100mbps should be more than sufficient, so I didn't want to pay the extra fee per month to equip higher speed; instead, I bought this system to eliminate the signal loss I was experiencing in the living room. This is where expectations vs. reality set in. With my old wifi router, I was testing speeds around 110-115mbps in the vicinity of the router, even in a couple rooms over where our office is located I was getting slightly over 100mbps consistently. When I installed the google system, however, I haven't tested over 100mbps anywhere in the house, even right next to the main node. I researched extensively before purchasing this, and was confident in my understanding that there should be no signal loss for internet plans below 500mbps, approximately. That seems to be the main selling point of the mesh system vs. traditional WiFi range extenders. The reality is, I test speeds ranging from 60-90mbps everywhere in the house, although my google home app will tell me the wifi speeds are 110+. Obviously this is a big improvement, but I was still disappointed to see the speed drop like it did. All nitpicking aside, with the simplicity of the setup, the attractive and compact nodes, and significant decrease in signal loss in our common areas, I am happy with the purchase.

Complete junk- cut our speed to 3X less
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We let the Comcast technician convince us that this product would be amazing and would give us the actual speed we pay for in every room of our 2400 square foot house. An internet speed test on the Xfinity modem/router alone gives us 270-340 mbps download speed. After setting these up, we get between 80-90 mbps in the same rooms. They are set up correctly. They are going back. Complete junk. If you have a room that isn’t getting a strong signal, get an extender. This junk cut our speed to 1/3 of what it should be.

Google Mesh Router
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Streamed shows are still freezing and buffering. It could be the internet provider. Waste of over $100. I’ve been out of town so too late to return

Not technically inclined
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall probably a good buy for a young person. I am over 70 and could not get connected until I downloaded the Google app on my (way-too) smartphone. Google site very confusing. A service tech connected one but also found the Google site crazy; put other two mesh routers back in the box. Would have returned all three but then would have had to start/learn another hook-up. Salesperson said i would just have to "plug in" to an electrical outlet... NOT TRUE

disappointing
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.doesn't work as advertised. I was hoping my wifi speed would be better and faster with the mesh compared to the xfinity modem/router and while it is--only marginally. I'd recommend getting a different one, the firmware and customer service support isn't that much better either. I expected more from Google.

Don't Buy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since connecting this Google Nest Mesh Router, my printer never stays connected to my computers. It is a daily problem which can only be attributed to this Google Nest. I am very very very unhappy with this even though I now have internet connection in a back room of my home. That is the ONLY good thing about this device. The Best Buy representative who set it up didn't let me know that fouling up the rest of my system could occur; not happy.

Not ok google
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was so buggy during install ( iphone 12). And near impossible to add devices. Was constantly showing neighbors nest instead of the device sitting in front of me! Took nearly 20 mins to install 3. And then it worked but if you have giga speeds or need wifi 6 better off upgrading to a higher model or Amazon's eero which I did & is working perfectly. It's about $50+ but worth it.

Unstable connection
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cannot maintain steady connection when multiple Google Wifis are close to each other. The devices can connect to Wifi, but cannot access internet reliably. The problem happens across many devices. The problem is resolved when I replaced the Google Wifis with TP-Link Decos. The configuration through Google Home app is also very slow.

Worthless Google WiFi mesh system
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These don't work. I have a 1200 square foot condo. I have a problem receiving wifi in the front bedroom, the router is in the back bedroom, I put 3 Google wifi mesh routers in the only 3 rooms I have, and it didn't improve my reception one iota! I have tried everything they recommend, including talking to their support people for over 3 hours and still it is just crap. What a waste of money.

Google mesh 3-1 box
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a valued Customer of Best Buy, as you can see on my purchased history. The item is brand new, i work on weekdays and the only time I could set it up, is on a weekend. So I did, but only 1 worked, the 2 are faulty. Did reset several times, until it came to a point I had to call cust support. Such a hassle. I can’t even return it since it expired.

Google WiFi Didn't Work With My Required VPN
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wasn't able to use this product. I purchased it, to help boost my home WiFi network, since my college kids had all online classes, and I was now working from home. The issue came where my required VPN kept getting rebooted with Google WiFi, and I couldn't keep a steady connection, so I had to return it.

Not recommended for a Mesh
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Single unit works fine for speeds. Once you get it in a mesh system, speeds reduce drastically. I have 600mbps connection and under one, the unit tops out at 450mbps wireless. Once i added it to a mesh system, speeds dropped to about 100mbps. Not recommended for a mesh system
