Great coverage!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these things! We have about a 3,200 SF home, and we were originally using a Portal for our wifi. Certain areas in our basement, main level, and second floor had patchy wifi or none at all. After some rigorous study, I wound up purchasing the Google Wifi setup. My 6-year-old and I had it up and running in about 30 minutes, and since then, we've had incredible signal anywhere in or outside of our house. I've got wifi throughout our yard, which has since led me to get a Sonance outdoor setup, which uses the Sonos Amp for power. I'm pretty exited! One important item to note: The difference between Google Wifi and Google Home Wifi, which is 50% more expensive? Google assistant. You don't need it. Just buy Google Wifi

Great speed, reduced range
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't have the range of the old 2.4 gh. When you have signal they work awesome. I found they range to be half of our old orbi. The download speed is very good enabled us to use all of our bandwidth they we pay extra for. Had to add a booster for them to reach some of our outside cameras.

Works great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely easy to set up, works flawlessly, easy to monitor with Android app. This is my second purchase of these; the first for a vacation house. If you don't need the Google Assistant microphone, buy these.

Should have bought this sooner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very simple to set up, and fixed all my connection and range issues I was having with the router I rented from Spectrum. Speeds and connection quality are consistent across all 3 units around my house.

Google Mesh Review
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to use a mesh system to get better coverage with my 2 story home and porch. Setting up the system is supposed to be a breeze, but it took me a couple of days to get each point working. That said, it is working consistently. The big positive with the Google Mesh 1200 is the evenness of wifi signal throughout the home, with good coverage on the porch and deck. Upstairs signals are definitely improved. The points are small and look good as well. The app provides useful and interesting information, and is required to set up and maintain the system. The main negative was the trickiness in getting the system set up. This system is only for those who can use an app on their smart phone and/or tablet.

Zach Suzuki, Best Buy Employee of the year.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far the mesh system is working normally. Although it does not do any better than the stock router that was installed by spectrum. The big plus was the sales rep that sold it to me, Zach Suzuki. Zach was very professional and very knowledgeable. When I went into Best Buy I had planned on looking but not purchasing at this time. Zach walked up to me and asked if he could help. We started discussing routers. No pushing, no impatience, he was just totally professional and extremely helpful. Zach explained all the different types of routers and by the end of the conversation I had decided to purchase the google mesh router to use with 5 ring cameras, 2 TVs and 3 cell phones. I live in a one floor ranch house. At no fault to Best Buy I would have hoped the google mesh router would have worked better but I don't see any advantages so far of the mesh system over any stand alone router.

Excellent choice with great reviews
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This mesh router works great. I have a house that has thick walls and is not as open as I would like. I originally had a single one of these routers but was using the tv providers modem/router. I decided to cut the cable and go for streaming only so I wanted something that would absolutely cover my entire house. Knowing that I could add my old one to the mesh was a plus (the system looks back so old routers like mine are compatible. It does a great job. In fact I still have one that I haven’t decided where to put it. Would absolutely recommend it. I am not a gamer so not sure if it is compatible with gaming speeds.

So simple to set up and use!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I buy and set up each new tech item with gritted teeth and a deep sense of pessimism. Tech is so typically overly complicated, and utterly maddening at times. Routers in particular can be horrific. What I wanted was a solution wherein I didn't have to run wired Ethernet into my office, and also had a range extension right by my back door so my car had service for downloading updates. This filled the bill perfectly! Pros: * they are very discrete and attractive * no super annoying bright blinking LEDs like so many routers * awesome, simple set up experience -- I would daresay it was "delightful", with enjoyable animations * user experience couldn't be simpler--you get one WiFi network name, that will automatically choose legacy or 5GHz band for your devices * single gentle, pleasant color band on front shows blue when working, red if there is a problem * the Google Home app shows the main things you need to know (Internet status; status of all three routers) * the Google Wifi app will give you fine control, if you need to do things like provide your own DNS, set up gaming access, etc. etc. * clear system map that shows the status of all 3 units * install process was aware you had 3 units to set up, walked you very nicely through setting up each one, then validating everything * each unit is physically identical, so you get a local wired Ethernet port at each location (if you want to use it) Cons: * it took awhile for me to understand there was a separate App than Google Home -- at first I thought the product was supremely crippled and wouldn't allow configuration of all kinds of geeky things you sometimes want, like which local subnet, gaming access, manual DNS, etc. -- but it turns out, you need to also install the Google Wifi app to access the details
