Customers are saying
Customers are satisfied with the Karma Quadcopter's ease of use, camera quality, and value for the price. However, concerns were raised regarding battery life, GPS signal reliability, and its susceptibility to wind. The lack of obstacle avoidance was also a frequently cited drawback. Improvements in these areas would enhance the overall user experience.

Solid drone for a good price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yeah the Marik drone has a few more features that make a better overall drone. The Karma is a better value for your money not only do you get a solid performing drone you also get the best action camera out there (Hero 5 $400), and a great gimble for it. (kamera grip $300). You also get a few more accessories including a nice backpack to carry it. Overall is the best drone package out there.

BEST
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.flew it a few times, and my first drone, i absolutely love it, no problems at all, just make sure you do the updates and you will be all good, the camera should have better reviews, the recall they did at the end of 2016 hurt the reviews, and people not doing the upgrades to fix the issue didn't help as well. the camera is superb now. and getting 18min battery life now flying.

Totally happy with this Karma Drone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought mine from the Milpitas Best Buy store. Easy to setup and fly. The micro SD is sold separately and nobody told me that so I had to go back to best buy again to buy it. I just wish Best Buy staffs have more knowledge on the Drone product. Please also make sure that you lock the stabilizer and propellers are tighten firmly before flying the drone. Overall, it is a great drone and love the 4K video footage.

I love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not the best drone compared to DJI drones. Does not have sensors However, the reasons why I chose this over Mavic are: It comes with Hero 5 Black, which is one of the best action cameras out there, the grip and a gimbal. The gimbal is removable and can be attach to the grip to take land videos. Very easy to fly. It does not use a cellphone to control the drone. This package gives you different perspective in making a short film. Very smooth aerial and land footages, which makes your video cinematic. The lack of sensors gives different shot advantages. Like passing through tight quarters

Solid Drone to go with my Hero 4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Karma last year and returned it to have the battery fixed although my drone specifically didn't have the loss issue? Just ordered my 2nd to go with my Hero 5 I got when I switched out the first Karma. I think this is a solid drone despite what I've heard about GoPro. It doesn't have all of the high-end features but personally, I like the GoPro products and will continue to buy.

Great package deal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this drone for several months now. Very easy to fly. GoPro is the way to go for a camera drone. They have a system for video upload called Capture that's automatic. Videos store into their cloud system called GoPro Plus. You can quickly edit your videos in their Quik & Splice apps. GoPro has built a video capture and delivery solution. Should not be compared with other drones. This product deserves its own category. I consider the drone to be an accessory. A way to get aerial footage. When I read most of the reviews I was confused with that. DJI is a drone company that attaches a camera. GoPro is a camera company that has a drone attachment. I like GoPro and their camera ecosystem. With the Hero 5 its so easy now to take footage with the voice recognition camera, post, and share family experiences. Great product GoPro. So much fun for my whole family.

Great drone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first drone. Very happy so far. Easy to fly, great video and pics. I can't believe its only $1100. Bonus: being able to detach the Hero 5 camera. The Capture app has bugs to work out. The work around is to delete the app then reload. No problems other than this.

Didn't beat expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. And I had low expectations. I am not getting the range I would expect from the Karma. It has consistently came back after less than 1k feet away. The lack of sensors cause it to land quite abruptly and not handle wind well at all. It's heavy and bulky, which gets annoying after a few miles. The controller is really nice and I prefer it over the DJI Mavic. The video quality is good enough, however the fisheye effect forces you to shoot linear at 2.7k. The gimbal has some creeping horizon tilt issues. Returning the Karma.

Best UAV (drone) I have flown to date
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recieved my Karma in the mail two days ago and its been a love fest since. It feels substantial, very well behaved/easy to fly, and is an incredible value for the money. This is my first gopro product, so it has been fun learning about the camera, detachable gimple, drone, and the suite of apps and software that gopro has. Its really opened my eyes to what a drone should be and I am keeping this sucker til the day it dies!

UNBELIEVABLE PRODUCT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely user friendly and EXTREMELY portable. I use it a lot for the golf course and can take flight, shoot aerial footage of us playing and have it back in the bag and golf cart within minutes...I am sure I will be using it for other activities in the near future when it warms up such as wake surfing, mountain biking, etc. Overall extremely happy with purchase!!

Worked for about 3 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought it was a good concept, apparently not. Camera will no longer communicate with drone. So it will not fly. Not as durable as older Gopro products as Karma grip latch is loose. Camera shoots great picture, but sound is horrendous. Oh yeah, I never crashed it. This is just every day usage. I had a child's remote control car last longer.

parts are parts
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's think ahead. We crash our drones and we need parts to fix them. Gopro provides parts within days so you can fix your drone, but the competitors ask you to send it in and you're out a drone for the time they need to fix it. I'm not perfect while flying a drone and there will always be those unforeseen circumstances. Let's all think ahead in this area before buying a drone. Happy Flying!

Easy to Use, Easy to loose
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please compare complaints on the GoPro Karma Owners Facebook page to the Mavic Pro (or others) before you buy the Karma. I saw a few "fly-aways" mentioned, but I attributed it to abnormal glitches. The issue, Loosing GPS and Loosing control are too - way too common. Buy the way, if loose GPS, it won't know where to fly back to you, and if you loose control, you will probably either loose your Karma in someone's back yard, or if you do find it, you'll find pieces - like I did. I loved it while it lasted (about 3 months), took lots of great footage. After all it came with a 4K GoPro camera. It (was) awesome! If you still have to have it (like I did), get insurance. State Farm - ~$60/year!

Think BEFORE you buy!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this drone in Sepyember with my adult son for a portion of his birthday gift and he was to pay the remaining portion. Within THREE WEEKS the drone disappeared never to return again. These very expensive machines do NOT do what they are supposed to which is return when it starts to go out of range. We paid $1200 for the drone with all the bells and whistles. My son has called GoPRo and Best Buy trying to get some help and has gotten NONE from either. We are still paying dearly for a machine he had less than a month. It should be taken care of!!!!! I dont have that much money to throw away but if you do then be sure to buy this drone from this company......

Good bang for buck...not a great drone though...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this setup because i wanted the all in one bundle. (Drone, camera, gimbal grip, etc) For what you are getting it truly is one of the best deals out there especially if you need a camera too and don't want to spend the extra money on a different camera. However if you are looking for strictly a drone i would highly recommend looking into a DJI drone. They claimed to have fixed it but this drone has sometimes a glitchy/ laggy screen on the controller at distance and I've also been experiencing issues with the horizon being tilted and not level. Not sure how to fix it if you can but is rather upsetting when using it for videos. If you already have a separate camera and are looking for a drone (even if you already have a go pro) I would highly recommend spending the extra money for a DJI if your strictly buying for drone purposes.

Great Drone, Camera and even a Steady Cam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comparing it to the competition the Karma does a number of pretty important things better. The Hero5 Black has far greater image quality than Mavic's camera. The drone's flight modes may have a few less bells and whistles but overall its capable of all the same maneuvers. It is also basically comparable to buying the Mavic and a DJI Osmo (which would cost $1700) so really the Karma is an extremely good deal as well)!

Not safe to buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying that the GoPro Karma is a nice drone. It flies well, performs well, is very responsive to controls and is just overall nice looking. With that said, this drone has a lot of problems. Range is a major problem. I'm getting signal interruption at distances of just 400 feet with full line of sight. The reason why I say that this drone isn't safe to fly is because today I was flying at my local park when all of the sudden my Karma fell right out of the sky. I had just changed the battery and was in the air for about a minute or so and it just lost power and hit the ground. I'm a 107 licensed pilot so I know the rules about flying, and I would never put anyone near me in danger with my drone, but I also rely on the integrity of the product to not catastrophicly fail while in the air. There was a little girl less than 300 feet from my crash site. My unit is a post recall unit and so I expected it to be safe to fly. I was wrong. Please, for your safety and the safety of others, do not buy this drone. Best buy will not stand by it's product that it sold to you. They do not offer a warranty. If you buy it along with the GoPro camera and 3 batteries like I did, and the same thing happens to you, you'll be out of $1200 just like me. Don't do it.

Great when able to Fly....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box it was great. A lot of fun and a lot of cool features. We needed the camera for water sports and such. Albeit it was my fault for crashing it, got the extended warranty from Gopro, customer service is terrible. Only can reach them through email and when you call to talk to a person, you have to explain everything all over to them. After crashing my drone, broken rear arms, a month later still waiting on parts. Very easy to fix but if you don't have parts you can't fix it. If you are willing to spend the money, be ready to wait for a while for parts if the unfortunate happens.

Do not buy this drone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do yourself a favor and do not buy this product! I did buy it from Best Buy and it is not Best Buy's fault. Gopro is great for their cameras not their drone. I recently had mine lose connection with the controller and took off sporadically into a far away cliff full of trees. I was not able to find it. I did everything I am supposed to do before launching the drone and made sure there were no advisories in the areas. Gopro said it was my fault and that they will not replace. Gopro customer services department is not very helpful and very difficult to get ahold of due to 3+ hour waits on hold. I will never understand how it is my fault other than the fact I should never have bought the drone in the first place. The drone loses control very easily and is not meant to be used unless in big open fields. They really need to have more warnings on their product and to fix these deficiencies. The karma does not have sensors on it to reframe from hitting buildings or trees. It does have a return to home feature which I attempted to use on my last flight and that failed as well as losing the ability to use the controller. It basically went off on its own far away. PLEASE do yourself a favor and do not buy the drone. The camera is great for people who love outdoors or sports. It's very unfortunate that I spent this amount of money and extra for batteries and lost all my photos from my vacation as well as my camera.
