The new material was not worthy of a double album but disc one was the best Metallica music since the black album 25 years ago. The old Metallica sound was back in full force. I was a bit worried after the self titled first single but the album picked up after that and did not dissapoint.

Wow Metallica, Wow! Not a huge fan of Metallica, but I was pretty wowed by this latest album. Awesome performances and some surprisingly different vocals from Hetfield on a few of the tracks too.

For everyone who has waited so long for Metallica to come out with a album well wait no longer. This limited-edition album is three disks long. The third bonus disk is about 80 minutes long.

This is a great new album by this Bay Area band. The deluxe edition is great because it comes with a live disc recorded in Berkeley with great songs. Pick it up if you haven't already.

Metallica comes full force in this one! The speed, technicality, power, heaviness - it's all there! I saw them perform some of these new songs live, and I can honestly say that, not only do both the studio and live versions sound identical, but they're equally spectacular!

so this is the best they have sounded in years. It's a throwback to their heavier sound. I have the deluxe version and I definitely recommend getting the extra tracks! you will not be sad!

Good, solid, consistent effort from Metallica. Successfully returns to their thrash roots. The 3 CD deluxe edition is worth it for the bonus material, especially "When a Blind Man Cries."

While it may have been decadaes from their first album, this band still rocks. this album is solid sounds like the classic albums of yesteryear. I have to recommend this deluxe edition for the bonus tacks which is live versions of classics. well worth the listen and the cash.

Yes, there are a couple of songs that could have been left off and replaced with "Lords of Summer," but overall another amazing album by one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time.

It's Metallica, not much else to say. I purchased the 3 disc for myself and the 2 disc as a gift for a family member. Great songs like normal and sticks to their main way of doing music.

This album is without a doubt Metallica's best album since Justice! Everything from the crushing guitar riffs to Lars' double bass drumming. This album was totally worth the 8 year wait!

This is like the older Metallica music. Some of the best heavy metal I have heard in quite a while. If you like great music on the heavy side, this double cd set will not disappoint you.

Awesome album, with killer sound quality! Songs are in your face, heavy and have a groove. Probably could have been a single disc but that's a minor issue. Love to listen to this album!

This is the best Metallica album in quite a long time. It really feels like Metallica trhis time around whereas the past several albums they have done since the 90s have not. Love it!!!

MetallicA has been back. Heavy, fast, long, and amazing. All tracks are great, my favorite Not That We're Dead. The deluxe is definitely worth it. Awesome covers, live and bonus tracks.

In my opinion, this is the best Metallica album since their 'Black'album. It brings back memories of their slashing guitar solos, pounding drums and biting lyrics of their earlier work.

I've been a Metallica fan since their first album release, but have been wondering over the years, and past album releases, where have they gone! By this I mean, and surely a true fan who's been around since the beginning, who knows how groundbreaking they were to bring thrash metal to the scene. I don't consider them as a thrash metal/heavy metal band anymore. They've become a hard rock band ever since. The last album that sounds like the Metallica I grew up with was, And Justice For All. This latest release is no different. The tight rhythm between bass and drums just doesn' t feel or sound as it once was. It has some great riffs, guitar solos and arrangements, but still falls short of sounding like the thrash metal band they once were a long time ago.

I know that all of us have been waiting for a long time for a pelican to go back to the basics but we definitely did so on this album really good to hear them going back to their roots

Oh, Metallica. I jumped off the Metallica bandwagon when my sister decided to add the Black album to her collection, which featured bands such as Trixter and Slaughter. I jumped back on for St. Anger just for the fact that they tried going back to the old stuff. Then came Death Magnetic, and now Hardwired. I agree with everyone who has stated that this album should have been cut in half. That half would consist of all the songs that you know you've heard before, because they contain elements from their pre-Black albums. These retreads are not good. But, all of the singles you've heard on the radio truly are great songs. For those songs and Metallica's historical importance, I would buy the album. Just don't think it is going to be a great album.
