    Incredibly Sick!!

Going to be hard to put this into words, but this "CD Deluxe Set" is Incredibly Sick!! Awesome, a must have. Do not buy this without getting the bonus disc, one bonus track, 2 awesome cover songs along with some live tracks!! Mistake not to purchase the Deluxe Edition. I picked up 2 on the day it was released from Best Buy for $9.99 and would have been willing to pay double. Great deal. Huge fan. Have seen them so many times live to count. This CD set is the best thing that they've put out in awhile. Not to knock some of the past CDs, but this one actually holds up to expectations, from start to finish. A must buy if you love heavy metal \,,/ \,,/ Love it

    They're back!

As others have said, this album is full of amazing instrumentation from frenetic guitar solos, pounding drum tracks and catchy riffs. The songs are great and have been worth the wait. I will say some stand out more than others and it becomes apparent in a few places that Metallica is a riff-first, lyrics-later type of band when they write songs. If you like Metallica at all, you'll really like this album. On the heaviness scale, I'd say it lands somewhere between the Black Album and ....And Justice For All. Similar to Death Magnetic in sound, but often a slower tempo.

Best Metallica Album since ...And Justice For All

I've listened to the full album all the way through once so far and I'm really impressed. My favorite Metallica albums are Master of Puppets, ...And Justice For All, and Ride the Lightning. Nothing since those 3 albums has been as good until now.

Demands compulsive listening - 4.5 stars

I've been listening to Hardwired regularly since it's release, which was over five months ago. I can't recall the last album I listened to with such regularity and captured attention. Maybe Radiohead's In Rainbows 10 years ago. Even the tracks I initially thought were cheesy like "Here Comes Revenge" and "ManUNkind" can withstand repeated listenings and have interesting parts. Is it AJFA? Nope. Is it the best thing they've put out since I was 12 years old in 1991? Yep. Definitely recommend. Enjoy it! And let's go celebrate them in concert 36 years after James responded to Lars' classified ad.

    Nice Surprise

This album is so diverse, lots of fans will have a different "favorite" song. Each song stands on its own and sounds somewhat familiar, yet new. I think this is their best album since the Black album, maybe even since And Justice For All. I overall, this is one of their most complete and diverse albums. They're finally back!!

    Metallica back to True Form

I enjoyed their last release Death Magnetic and this one continues where they left off. I bought the limited 3 disc (great price) and every track on this is worth multiple replays. Really enjoyed the videos they made of every song from this album as well. If you are a Metallica fan buy it and thrash out!

Getting closer to the original sound...

...but still fall back into Load/Reload territory at times. They have been heading in the right direction for the last couple of albums, this one being the closest to the "old/original" sound. Makes you wonder what this album would have sounded like if Kirk didn't lose his riff ideas (200+) if he hadn't lost his phone a year or so ago (he has no writing credits on this album). Still a solid album, would rate 4.5 stars if I could.

My favorite on the album "Spit out the Bone" is thrash metal at it's finest. I gave the rest of the album a few spins and it grew on me. It's a solid album and I am looking forward to hearing the songs live on the hopefully soon announced North American tour 2017.

For those who has been disappointed with this band before as I have this album truly redeems them. This is the sound they should have gone with all along and none of Lars' god awful snare.

Another awesome album by Metallica. Disc one is practically flawless but CD 2 has some snoozers. "Spit out the bone" makes up for any shortcomings.

Love the music, hate the split disc.

    Posted .

The music is their best in a long time, but the 3cd set should've just been done as 2cd instead. Bought the 3cd version with the thought that it was the original cd + two bonus discs. NOT the original album split up into two discs and the third being the bonus. When driving down the road, having to swap discs after half of the album is done is not the best of ideas, nor is it very appealing when trying to stay in the mood. I would recommend just buying the original with all 12 songs on one disc instead of getting 2 six song discs +bonus disc.
