The Geek guy seemed to be distracted from doing what I needed done. I had recently had a bad power surge which resulted in a HDMI port being bad. I needed find out the problem. He checked it out & determined it was indeed bad. BUT the way he did it was disappointing. I felt he thought it was 'beneath' him to do this. I also felt like he 'couldn't wait to get out of here'. !

They were in such a hurry to get out once installed. It would have been nice to get an overview of the appliance before they left. Also didn't take all the tape off on the outside and also on the inside because of the hurriedness.

This is for the Myrtle Beach SC Best Buy Manager
On July 4, we visited the store and spoke with an agent who helped us schedule what was described as a “survey call” to our home. We had attempted to purchase a universal remote control, but were informed that Best Buy did not carry it and could not order it. We were advised to buy it from Amazon instead, and that Geek Squad would need to conduct a home survey to assess our existing equipment for installation planning.
The agent came to our home on July 12, documented all the necessary equipment, and told us we should expect to hear back within about a week. However, after a week and a half with no updates, we returned to the store to follow up. Unfortunately, no one there had any information regarding our installation.
I left my name and phone number with Trevor at Geek Squad and was told the manager would contact me, but as of today, I have not received a call or any communication regarding the status of our installation or whether the work can even be done.
Could someone please provide an update or let us know what the next steps are?

Kirk is the best. Honestly, my first interaction with him is why I keep returning to Best Buy. I am techno challenged and knowing that I can have someone as patient, kind, friendly and knowledgeable help me makes me loyal to this brand. Kirk has help my family many times with new purchases and we are very grateful for his help and teaching.

My service man was the best. He was considerate of tracking up my home and took safety measures regarding COVID. Diagnosed the problem in a timely manner and knew what steps to implement. I would request him again and recommend him. Thank you for having such a team member on Geek Squad. The process to get an appointment was less desirable and I almost gave up on waiting for the appointment.
