    As a long time Best Buy, Geek Squad, and Total Tech Support Services member, I can say from experience over the past 7 or 8 years, that they are worth it. Best Buy and Geek Squad are the first names I think of when I need anything from office supplies to electronics, to kitchen appliances. They provide an affordable and an invaluable service to the community. I highly recommend them.

    How Long Does it Take to Replace a Remote Control?

    The remote control stopped working with the television that came with it. In November, I was inBest Buy and was asked to call the Geek Squad so I did and made an appointment for November 16th. Javier came out and told me the remote was no good and he would be ordering another remote that never came. Now it is December and he finally came very close to year ending and all is well.

    I recently had a Denon receiver installed by the Geek Squad. They (2) came at time promised, and adequately installed it with speakers, etc. (I, they) added an Xfinity Flex streaming device too. However, upon using it later, it was hard to figure all functions. Of course, no written instructions came with receiver, and online was a jumble. They came back upon my request, no charge, and finished setup, and added my 7.1 rear speakers. This was with the extended service and warranty in place, which is also there for my 85" - 1 yr. old Samsung TV.

    Fine Tuning Today's A/V Receivers

    I have a 9 speaker Dolby Atmos surround sound setup and was having trouble fine tuning the system. It takes hours trying different media in the system. In order to get the correct sound output you need to access the many different internal settings that today's AV Receivers have. It is impossible for the Total Tech Support team to do all of this that is required in playing so many different media sources. What they were able to do is show me where these settings were located and how to make any changes.

    Geek squad pointed out the problem .... cable box.

    There were two representatives of Geek Squad here and they came to the opinion that it was the cable box that was the culprit. They disconnected the sound bar and had us watch closely for a repeat of the problem. Conclusion: I need to unplug the cable box and swap it for a new one at one of Cox's retail stores. Shortly after they left, we discovered that the batteries in the remote control were showing replace, so we did that. We're watching it closely now when we watch television.

    The agents synced 2 tv remotes to sound bars and solved my problem with an old tv with me buying a fire stick which I bought from you and now that tv works great.

    On Aug. 3, Johnny from the Soquel, CA Store came with the replacement Samsung Soundbar and had it installed and working (on the existing wall mount) in short order. He was the same tech that identified the previously purchased Samsung Sound Bar (that the Geek Squad installed/wall-mounted on April 7, along with the new Samsung TV) as probably internally defective, since he had spent some time here previously in trying to make it work again after I had called to report that it quit pairing with the dedicated TV.

    The agent helped me with a problem reaching a company who is monitoring my credit accounts due to me having confidential information in my medical files hacked. I had lost my password so could not access my file. Due to his help I now was able to change my password.

    I made this appointment to get help setting up our smart lock, but for some reason, Best Buy had it categorized as Home Theater Troubleshooting Service, and that's what technician, Elvin, expected when he arrived. Nevertheless, he patiently helped us connect our smart lock to our WiFi. It took many tries, but he did it - something my fairly handy husband could not do for weeks. So happy we made the appointment! We were almost ready to throw out 2 expensive smart locks (they were past the return window), but with Elvin's help, we no longer have to.
