Service Call Geek Squad

It is now August and the Appoint has been scheduled and cancelled 3 times. I drove over to the Store talked Best Buy management and I believe a tech will be at my house to fix the issue on August 14th

No follow up, no plan, and have called many times

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have purchased around 4 to 5 Bravia Sony Tvs from Best Buy now and with the last purchase I signed up for Total Tech and plan to keep it going forver. My Sony A90j developed a solid green line through the panel just 5 months in so i scheduled the service to come out and diagnose it. While there they said it will most likely be a replacement as they noticed the issue immedietly. They told me someone will follow up in a few days to let me know whats going on. Its been over 3 weeks now with no response. I have called in multiple times to check on status of return/repair and i always get something different “ohh we will just give you a gift card to purchase a new Sony A90j and you can dispose of the broken tv yourself” or “ive updated the service in the system and someone will call you tomorrow, or “ill see whats going on and get back to you”. All want is my sony A90j replaced or fixed. Thats it. Homestly hope i just get a gift card so i can go get a replacement ASAp. I hate that i have to leave a one star review, but sometimes its the only way to get a response as it goes to customer experience and strategy team that then escelates it. At this point i just want a working TV.

Geek Squad Was Useless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The service tech came to my home to replace a broken HDMI cable and when I explained the problem he said that all he could do is take pictures of the TV installation but couldn’t help me with replacing the HDMI cable. He didn’t know how to reach the cable and called his supervisor. I had to go into the attic to take more pictures for him and his supervisor and when I asked him about the HDMI cable that needed to be replaced to the Sonos Amp he told me that there isn’t any HDMI cable that connects to the amp and I was mistaken. I sent him a picture of the Sonos amp with the HDMI cable which proved that he didn’t know that piece of equipment but he didn’t respond. I ended up replacing the HDMI cable myself and fixed the problem.

Not the best experience,

They left and still no sound. Recommend buying a new TV S had this one little over a year. We left town for two weeks and I thought I would give it a shot. Sound came on, explain please, a miracle! I paid $142 for this . Now both sound bar and TV sound is on which gives an echo, so I must cut off the sound bar. Two stars is being lenient.

CANT WATCH TV. NEED 2 MEN TO INSTALLED CORD BACK INTO THE WALL. THHIS SYSYEM IS ABOUT 6 MONTHS WAS INSTALLED BY BEST BUT. WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR LONGER CORD TO BE INSTALLED PLUS COST OF NEW CORD

No Show,

No one called, until the day of the appointment, and Customer Support called and said their GeekSquad person couldn't make it.

It is my understand that the employee was sick, which I understand;However, not not notifying me was very disrespectful. After all this I still am waiting for them to fulfill their original appointment. I have been a Best Buy customer for over 40 years and this was eye opening.

Geek Squad in home Repair Appointment

I’ve had conversations with 8 different people in 5 days. All but 1 was very informative. One even diagnosed the problem and knew what part to order. Everyone, including me, was nice & patient with the whole process. At that point, I would’ve given 4 stars for courteous. I called back to confirm appointment when the part didn’t arrive at my door at stated time. To my surprise, I got a person that said my appointment was not on that Monday like I thought but on the following Saturday. I asked her to please look at all the notes for an explanation. I knew with all the time spent with the different people waiting for their computer system to populate an appointment time, there was no way she took the time to do so. She said I should have gotten an email. I checked to see. No email. She so much as told me, “too bad, that’s just the way it is”. I called again right afterwards and got a very courteous guy. He looked at the notes. Based on what he found and what I had in my notes, I discovered my appointment was changed after the hour I was given the Monday time. They didn’t inform me, much less confirm with me whether I was going to be home or not. I never write reviews but this is frustrating. Management needs to know. On the review format, I’m asked if I would recommend Geek Squad Service. Up until this time, very much so. Not so sure now.

Terrible!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Geek Squad people that have come out to our house to work on issues have been very knowledgeable and effective. However, the telephone support lines have been absolutely miserable, unknowledgeable, and have actually lied to me. This week when I took my computer into the store, the person who took my order apparently did not communicate any of the issues that we are supposed to be accomplishing to the people that would be actually working on the computer and it almost cost me all of my data. That would have been disastrous and I explained that to the person that did the intake on the computer. I have recommended Total Tech to a lot of people but I'm now reconsidering my opinion because of the phone line support issues and also this bad experience in the store. I would very much appreciate a call from someone to discuss all of this and to understand if there are plans in the works to rectify any of these situations.
