    Worst Service I’ve ever seen

    Terrible service. It started bad as soon as I got there. So I was taking my laptop that I purchased there prior from 2 years ago to get it fixed. The battery was broken basically and it needed replacing. I had bought a warranty on it. So I decided to bring it to Geek Squad. When I got there to give them my computer my appointment was canceled without them telling me. Although a guy did end up taking my laptop. He seemed really nice. Although he wasn’t actually a part of the Geek Squad crew and he didn’t know how to fill out the forms exactly, but he told me that he thought he could do it. So I trusted him. They told me it would take maximum of 2-3 weeks. I also signed up for a text messaging system to inform me how my repair was doing. So it”s been 3 weeks and I hear nothing. So I decide to call them to check on it to find out that they weren’t taking any calls from customers. So then I was transferred to a national Best Buy. She told me that the store would call me either today or the next day. Spoiler they never called back. I decided to google if there was another way to check on my order and I found out you could from there website, which I was never told you could do that. I just assumed the text message system would tell me. So apparently they had stopped working on my computer because they wanted an estimate. I have a warranty there should be no estimate to approve of. The guy I talked to at the store just filled the paperwork out wrong and I don’t blame him since it’s not his job to know that information anyways. So I then call Geek squad to see what I can do to fix this since Best Buy wasn’t taking calls. Geek squad told me I would have to PHYSICALLY go into Best Buy to fix this issue! I live an 1hr and a half away. I can’t just do that! So I got mad and eventually they put me through to Best Buy. I talked to the main manager there and they said that they would figure this out and make sure that my warranty was on there. So now repairs resume on my laptop. It took them 6 weeks to repair my computer. So I come to pick up the computer and they tell me that I have to pay for it! You would think that they would write down that there was a warranty. Then I check on my computer and it is filthy. Extremely dusty and grimy. Also my battery had a bunch of new scratch marks on it. I asked them if I could get my computer cleaned and they just rolled their eyes. Extremely rude and terrible service.

    Geek Squad misdiagnosed the problem

    A nice young tech came to our home to diagnose a buzz sound with our 20 yr old tower speaker. He diagnosed it as a bad subwoofer, 1 of the 4 speakers in the tower. He was unable to replace it, but told us how to do it. We ordered a new (used) subwoofer for the speaker. We installed it and still the buzz. Turns out, from people who have been repairing these buzz sounds for many years that it was actually the amplifier that was the problem. We were then able to repair the speaker correctly.
