I had trouble with two earlier purchases of Honeywell RTH 9585 programmable wi-fi thermostats. One read the room temperature 9 degrees high, and the other read it 13 degrees low! Honeywell confirmed that these were defective. I bought this RTH6580WF as a "last try" with Honeywell, and it works exactly the way it should.

The installation was really easy. Follow the steps that it tells you and you will be happy too.

It is is just what I need; access to my thermostat by internet so I can control and monitor my home what ever I am. Good deal!

We installed the Honeywell programmable thermostats in both our homes and are can check on the temperature and adjust it remotely. We also receive alerts for temperature changes and internet connectivity issues. The display of the thermostat is much easier to read than our old thermostats.

Originally wanted a Nest but it was for my mother's house so this was the compromise. Set up was not easy but not terribly difficult either if you know how to read instructions. Recommend professional installation for the AC hook up portion. Once set up on wi-fi, download app is easy enough and works perfectly. I have an Apple router with 100 mbps so my network is pretty robust for American standards lol. Love the old school look and can be adjusted manually as well.

We have 7-8 of them for our rental properties. The good thing is that you can manage and remotely control all thermostats in one app/ web portal, and your tenants can also remotely control their thermostats. But the bad thing is that the server is often slow. Also, there's no screen lock function in these thermostats, and worse, tenants can set the thermostat on vacation mode -- you won't be able to remotely control the thermostat anymore. It's a big hassle for us as landlords. We're stuck because we don't want to switch to another brand and app again. If we'd known about the no-lock/ vacation mode issues, we would have gone with a different brand. Out of the 7-8 thermostats we have, a couple of them are getting weird from time to time. One will set itself to 90F automatically without schedule and without anyone touching it. But overall most of them work just fine.

Easy to program and smart remote monitoring with colorful mobile application, $99 cost does same job as $250+ Wifi devices.

Good thermostat but I found out after purchasing that it was not compatible with my heat pump. For the price this would have been a great Wi-Fi t-stat but my system is only compatible with higher priced models. I returned this and bought a Nest t-stat which I am now very happy with. I would have liked to been able to kept this Honeywell model for the value. Would be 5 stars if worked with all heating systems.

I purchased this thermostat after two Google Nest thermostats went bad. Haven't had any issues with this Honeywell thermostat. I like being able to adjust this thermostat with my phone app when going on vacations.
